🏈 🔎 Looking ahead to LSU - Saturday night in BDS

Are thinking of Marvin Constant? He played LB and blew his knee out making a tackle that I believe forced OT during the ‘05 season I believe. Nothing dirty happened.
I think it was a offensive lineman on a goal line play.. the LSU player intentionally took his leg out... back in the days Alabama come on Jefferson Pilot... It has been a while though... all I remember it was close to the last play of the game. It may have been the last play of the game.

Steve spurrier GIF by Florida Gators
Yeah I thought of this after my post but again that is still relatively recent as well. 90's.....

They were mostly irrelevent pre Saban.... I say the same thing about Florida before Meyer. UGA had a little it of success pre Smart so they might be in the next tier just above LSU and Florida with regards to historical relevence. Same with pretty much all SEC programs not named Bama. People will look at a shorter time frame to argue otherwise but broaden it decade after decade.
So, there was this coach at Florida before Meyer... what was his name again???? Oh yeah, I think it might be Spurrier or something like that... might want to check out his reign...

The 99 game, Constant injured on last play at goal line, we win 23-17 I believe.
I remember that game well. The only reason we had to make a desperation stop on goal line as clock expired was Pflugner missing a short FG. I still blame him for injury. Didn’t he also miss the extra point in Orange Bowl vs Michigan & Brady?

Back on topic. I know there hasn't been much buzz around the game all this week and you know what? I think we've said same thing over and over about what LSU potentially can do and etc. IMO.... If there is any moment for TY Simpson to seize the moment for Heisman, this is it. He needs to throw over 350 yards or better to show that He is making progress. I think he will have a big game. Running game will finally show up.

Already replied in a later post. Sentiment is still the same. Just extends it for another few years but not over many decades.

I hope our team shows up focused coming by the BYE. I expect LSU to have a little extra bounce in their step than maybe they did the last few weeks - atleast early on.

Another good SEC test w/ a talented roster. Continue to get better and continue to improve.

Ya know, it was the early 80's when Florida showed up in SEC play with their first title. 15 years passed between Spurrier taking the job and Meyer's first day.

When it came to winning down there? I'll die on the hill Pell started the tradition.

Wasn't Pell the one that got them in a lot of NCAA trouble? BTW I did not recall him winning an SEC championship but will defer to your memory for that one.... Not sure where to draw the line for the agrument but in comparsion they historically do not go back to the 20's and do it decade after decade. I stand behind the original intent of my post...

A lot? I can't really speak to the severity. Bama was one of the schools that voted to allow them to keep their SEC title in football when the Gators won. Ironically, Pell's issues ... a lot stemming from Pell Grants.
