🏈 🔎 Lookin ahead to Indiana

Did I state we smacked down anyone?

You mentioned the ones they did as a way to bring them down a level. So I simply asked who we smacked down. They will not be push overs. They have earned their #1 ranking. We better be ready for a fight is all I'm saying. A lot of folks here think they haven't played anyone and don't belong on the field with us. That is not the case. As I stated, going into Oregon and beating them by double digits is huge. Beating the "unbeatable" Buckeyes was huge too.

A -7 hasn't happened in a VERY long time here's a pic of any underdog lines since Saban took over in 2007
I read a report on one of the betting sites I like that said the large percentage of money bet on two games—IU and OSU—has been place on the favorite. So, that told me two things about the Bama game (because the line hasn't moved a lot.)

Not a lot of money has been wagered, period. Or, the sharps are just waiting. There has been movement but it's been more along the odds than the line. IE: -7 at -110 moved to -7 at -115.

Now, your suggestion? 🤷‍♂️ Maybe. But, at first glance, power rankings were similar.

Sagarin for one reflects a six point difference:

THIS is where Strength of Record comes into play, heavily. IU has OSU...Bama looking at UGA by his metrics.

That's the vibe I'm currently getting from this team: It's very similar to ND. I remember all the talk about ND that week...
Here's a yes and no from me.

I said many times before that game with ND they can't tackle. They couldn't; didn't. IU can. Hill is the only guy that's going to break a tackle (if he has a change to have three or four steps.)

I do agree defense is the key. On IU's end I wonder how'll they (Bama) will look to take advantage of their two edge guys out. I haven't looked at IU that deeply: just kept up with three games and final numbers. I'll look to see snap counts on the two back-ups that will be starting.

I would take Ole Miss (with Lane) over this IU team. He would run them east to west so much it would be the death of those two backups. Their interior? Gassed. Geez.

Iowa has a tough defense,
Undersung team. They just won their 7th bowl game in a row. While I don't think the last four season have all been 10 win types, I'd bet they have 40 wins over the last four years.

I saw on X they have five in the Pro Bowl this year which is one less than Iowa State has had in their history. Fan smack...that works.

The best Bama version can play with anyone. The not so best and at least down the stretch Bama version can struggle with anyone.

On the positive side not sure we have even seen the best Bama version to be honest as it pertains to all three phases for 60 minutes. Would be a great time for that to happen down the stretch. Getting people healthy is a huge boost.
