🏈 🔎 Looking ahead to this weekend: Missouri. (Jefferson, Hubbard, Ty, and Formby interviews.)

For the record.

You can look back to the pre-season threads and you will find me talking about Hardy. I knew what kind of RB he was before the season started.

@24and7

@Scrape&Search1032 tell me what formation defense is in and what mistakes did they make on that play that allowed Hardy to break away and gain significant ground? We know Bama seen the tape. what do you think they'll try and do?

Watch the #24.

Missouri is in a 4 down front (or even). They're playing zone coverage, an indicator for that is the star player not following him to the boundary, the star passes him off to the boundary side corner and that star is now a box defender. I can tell you some mistakes I see like that same star player overrunning the play, the plays side Linebacker trying to undercut his blocker and getting walked off from the play, the backside backer not being able to scrape over in time to help. Safety does a good job of coming down, but isn't able to make the tackle. The rest is just shitty effort by the defense, not bringing any violence on their tackle, nor wrapping him up when they have him.

Actually, I take that back about #24. He actually did a good job of setting the edge and taking away that lane, forced hardy to cut back inside. But that play side ILB fucked it all by trying to undercut his blocker. He got walled off and created that lane for Hardy.

I just realized that. Good catch. Play like that by SC defense and it made Mizzou look great.. ya know?

I have a problem with this "we" thing. Although, I have been looking down at inferior teams; Missouri's schedule. Coincidentally, that's what I've pointed to this week.

I HATE maths. But, I'm very statistically and analytically inclined when it comes to looking at opponents. I love advanced metrics when it comes to this game.

When we look at Missouri we see a lot of good offensive numbers. Those numbers are raw. When they are adjusted based on the teams they've played those rankings take a dive: it ain't the shallow end.

I expect a comfortable win just as I expect people to be shitting bricks when they see Missouri run a few scripted series to start the game.

@OldPlayer and you claim to be an editor.

It's a one stroke engine to date: outside zone running game. Cylinder.
In my defense, advanced metrics is not based on three observations. Three observations, with thousands of contributing factors, is loosely called a trend.
