šŸˆ Coaches Hot Seat: How long do they have?

As soon as the bus wrecks (could be this Saturday in College Station) the barners will once again push malzahn's fat ass right back onto the hot seat. He's a fucking living legend right now, and has been since the bowl game last season. But, once he drops one (and he WILL drop one soon, their luck won't be enough to guide them through that schedule undefeated) then they will start calculating how much the buyout has gone down in the last two years and then they will start campaigning for Hugh Freeze again

Pruitt is toast, ol Fatty will find any excuse to get his big ass back in the HC seat. I think Pruitt is in over his head, but working under/for Fatty is difficult I would imagine. Pruitt has to know that Fatty really wants the HC seat and if UT keeps losing thatā€™ll be it

So who is on the list? My viewpoint:

Pruitt - Tennessee (Turmoil within the program and his boss wants the job)
Helton - USCw (They're looking for the chance to dump him)
Mason - Vanderbilt (IMO he's good for Vandy but the season isn't trending in the right direction)
Malzahn - Auburn (needs an outstanding year now that the buyout is smaller)
Taggert - Florida State (the program is at an all-time low and not improving)
Muschamp - USCe (starting the season 1-2 before playing UGA, UF, A&M and Clemson)
Harbaugh - Michigan (still hasn't beat tOSU and probably won't)

$17MM buyout for Taggart and about the same for Muschamp - I donā€™t see these guys leaving. These ridiculous buyouts are making coaching changes more muddled, plus youā€™ve got to find a coach willing to go to these schools and fork over more ridiculous monies. Iā€™m betting those seats cool down when they hit the boardrooms.

The hottest seats in college football as I see it...
1. Pruitt at ut (Phil is chomping at the bit)
2. Taggart at FSU (What a dumpster fire for a team with a good history)
3. Helton at USC (They are still looking for John McKay's younger clone)
4. Mason at Vandy (Just not an easy place to be a football coach)

I think Muschamp can survive until at least next season and the reason why is the schedule. I live in SC and some of their fans are excited after the Bama game. One explained that he felt like it was a win because they covered the spread. I kid you not.

Cant see why Vandy would dump Mason.....3 year winning streak vs Vols...
Helton...because...if you believe rumors....Urb wants job...
Other 2 need a miracle win...
...pruitt...a uga or bama victory ..hope he get uga win....
....fsu.....ummmmm...youā€™re right ...he gone

but working under/for Fatty is difficult

I don't disagree with your feelings about fulmer and have no use for him at all so don't misunderstand what I'm about to say. My son graduated with a young lady at UA who was hired to work in the Athletic Dept at UT. When fulmer got the AD job she expected she would lose her job as he cleaned house, especially since she was a UA grad. But it didn't happen, in fact she said he was the nicest man she had ever worked for her entire life and he knows she's a Bama grad / fan. She told my son he was like working for your grandfather. All of this totally surprised me and my son.

I hope saying this doesn't hurt my reputation with you guys.

How long is this? Her entire working life couldn't be that long.

I totally agree that these coaches on the hot seat have disappointed, but in reality, the way I see it, there are only 3 or 4 great coaches in college football and they aren't leaving their programs.

There will be less and less great college football coaches going forward. Today's younger college coaches have less discipline than those before them. The pool of college players have even less discipline thus the final product is going to be like rollercoasters.

@Bamabww, I was listening to Jox in Bham yesterday and they said something that makes a lot of sense. Phil has been very quiet through all this, which is usually a good sign. When the AD comes out and says something, either in your defense, or throwing you under the bus, neither are really every good. I think Phil knows the shape the program was in and that hiring a new coach will put them behind for another year or two. No miracles are going to happen for UT. Time and recruiting are really what they need. I think Pruitt can recruit pretty well and think he can get it done if they leave him alone. It looks like Phatimus just might do that.

I hate confessions....
But it my job from which i have long been retired
I had dealings with UT athletic dept
And i had a meeting with Fulmer. We met in his office for 1/2 hour. AD came in and 3 of us sat and talked ( not football) very genuine and sincere. What can i say.
Phatphil was/is a backstabber in his job but took time out for what i was doing. ????????????????
