Oats again isn't shying back on tempering expectations for the team. Starts off with saying this is likely his best shooting team.
Pretty stoked to see Amari Allen. This is like the fourth or fifth time he's spoke about him impressing him this offseason. Need a longer wing to be able to disrupt passing lanes and have the ability to create on offense.
It was an issue last season that I think kept the team from over performing. We all remember Oats benching Sears in the second half vs LSU. Think the biggest evidence of having leadership issues was vs Ole Miss at home last season.
For what it's worth - Philon stated in an interview this season that being more vocal and helping the team was a big reason he's excited to come back. Just can't be one guy though. Mallette I'm sure will take on a role.
Man I really hope Onyejiaka develops well offensively. Read some stuff about how he's been playing extremely well on the defensive end, which is something we have desperately needed since Bediako.
Didn't see it posted here. Here's some practice footage. Looks like they were working on set plays. Oats had to come over to work with them on spacing.
Given Oats history at Bama I was expecting top 10 or higher. Ranked 15 is not bad There was time where 15th was the ceiling for sure and we would have killed for that ranking. Oats has set the expectations for Bama basketball high which is a great thing.
