| MBB/WBB đźŹ€ 2024-25 Pre-season - Tide opens the season Monday night

We had a similar thread last year, and like it, I will update this one with the movement as it happens and next season's roster takes shape. Obviously, all the players in red that are set to return, won't. And others will be added via the portal. But I'll keep this updated and keep track of it as it all unfolds. As always, let me know of any errors/mistakes.

Also, keep in mind, there are 13 scholarship spots available per season. As of now, Alabama is +2 (15 scholarshipped players), which means at a minimum, 2 of the following will not return.

Watching the Memphis game for the first time.

Really clunky on offense early. Alabama was really active on D with their hands and did well on the boards. Transition D could be a lot better. Multiple times they allowed Memphis to push the ball upcourt with relative ease.

For an exhibition game, officials really did call a lot of tick tacky calls. But Alabama's positioning on D was pretty subpar all night. Gotta improve there (and we know Oats will hammer it).

Reid and Philon are just incredible as freshman. Philon is smooth with the ball and has the capability to break down the D any time he wants. Think his shot selection around the rim will improve as the season goes on and we'll see less blocks. Reid doesn't really have a good shooting stroke yet, but his play away from the ball is damn impressive.

Too many turnovers. Par the course for an Oats team early on in the season. Especially with new faces.

This team is elite in transition offense. It's hard to imagine many teams matching their pace.

Dioubate is Herb Jones 2.0.

Holloway had some open looks in the first half and didn't fire it. Also had some decent drives to the basket.
Lot of things on D Oats were talking about that. Same for offense. He was upset all night long.
