šŸˆ Alabama officially releases new coaching staff

This yearly losing 99% of the field staff yearly just isn’t sustainable!!

2018...Alabama staff

New OC coach
New QB coach
New RB coach
New WR coach
New DC coach
New LB coach
New DB coach
New ST coach

14-1
At 12-0 Bama being mentioned as maybe the best team Saban has ever had.

Then came elite competition, and our D got exposed in the last three games.

There was an informative AL.com article I read earlier this morning detailing how in over his head Tosh was as DC, but how Pruitt's departure put Saban in a bind: do you hire another person outside the program to fill the DC spot, or do you promote someone on staff who isn't ready but retain his recruiting prowess (especially given the misses the previous year on the defensive side of the ball)?

Saban going for it on 4th down early in the 2nd quarter against Clemson told you everything you needed to know about his satisfaction with our D. He even said after the natty how he was worried about how [ill] prepared we were.

So yes, this amount of turnover is IS UNSUSTAINABLE. But I don't see how it's unavoidable given Saban's demeanor towards assistants and given what I think is the approaching end of his career. No assistant has the assurance of being retained after Saban leaves, so why not learn what you can and move on while you can leave on your own terms?

Makes me wonder if the UofA admin will pressure Saban to name a successor-in-waiting, like Texas and FSU did.

JMO but the U of A admin best stay away from The King. Nick is in the middle of a reboot that is needed.

Gunny Highway speaking to Nick's staff. "Nick is looking for a few good men. Unfortunately you ain't it"

Tosh grew more this year than he has in the last 5 years. He'll probably experience the same growth in Cleveland.

Offense somehow managed to put the Ferrari in the ditch, 16 points.

And the toll from playing LSU,Miss State,AU,UGA,OU,and Clemson had to matter. Bama looked like a physically worn team in the 2nd half of the OU. Clemson whipped our azz for sure but no way are they much better than Bama. Clemson was playing at a different speed both physically as well as mentally. I am an oddball for sure but I have no problem with Nick shaking up the joint. This could be Nick's Junction for both coaches and players.

Definitely don't think Clemson is 5 scores better than Bama.

With regards to shaking things, it needed to be done, but developing coaches is important as well.

As I said earlier, just glad we have a HC who will quickly make changes when needed. Many coaches have ended their careers by doing nothing when they should have made lots of changes.

Nick is in a tuff spot since if his teams continue to win at this level then his coordinators will get HC spots and position coaches will get coordinators jobs. The scoop that Dabo keeps his staff is BS because none of his staff have received HC positions with the exception of the DC and then I haven't read where he name school offered Brent.

Yup.

Saban is just evolving.

Charles Kelly, UT's ST and S coach, has an offer on the table to coach the safeties with Scott concentrating on corners.

Kelly turned down the DC position with Locks a few days ago.

So the Lake as DC is not going to happen. Looks like Nick is going to take that QB coach position slot an apply to his defensive staff with Sark doing double time. I guess the only mystery left is at DL coach and whether Coach K is staying or leaving and whether it will be before or after NSD. TenBears tells me his sauces say look for Bo Davis to return to TitleTown but after NSD. That would complete the band.
