šŸˆ Alabama officially releases new coaching staff

So the Lake as DC is not going to happen.
Why are we still discussing Lake?. That boat has sailed.

Let's assume these posts are both true. Under that assumption, it leaves me with a question (which might be somewhat rhetorical.)

IF this ship has sailed and IF it's not going to Lake why are we not seeing reports from Washington's 247 or Rivals sites touting their victory over Bama by keeping Lake?

A brief glance over both sites and you won't find an article suggesting it's over. There are two, on their 247 premium football premium node, that are discussing Lake and one is on a downturn (votes and reactions.)

I have read that Nick has two other seasoned DC's on the clock in addition to Lake (if he does decline). It sounds like Nick has convinced Pete to stick with his plan as a DC in Progress at Bama all the while Nick searches to hire another DC to assist Pete in his growth. The Bama AD might want to check his checking account balance. It appears that all these changes might not happen until the ink is dry on NSD feb 6.

So I am not versed enough with some of these coaches...tell me why all the heartache about Charles Kelley and Sal? Not sure I understand...

I have Zero problems with the hire of these two football coaches. None,Nada,Zip.

JMO but Nick is making an adjustment in his process with less emphasis on recruiting and more on coaching talent with his staff. Those on his staff regardless will NOT be bad recruiters.

It's going to take something pretty big to lure Golding away from Bama for next season. OU and Ole Miss put some pretty serious cash on the table that he left sitting there.

They are 2 good gets. Sunsari is a great position coach who wasn't much of a coordinator. Kelly would not be the assistant coach that Pruitt wanted to see leave their staff. With Kyle Flood, there seems to be a theme here.

That’s a good point about Flood, but if he’s not running the program, or even the offense for that matter, he will have less opportunity to cause trouble. If he’s a good OL coach and get get the line to play well, I’m all for it...

All four coaches on defense at this point (Golding, Sunseri, Kelly, and Scott) all have defensive coordinator experience on their resume(s.)

And unfortunately, with Golding as the exception, all of them were not given that responsibility last year.... Yeah?

10RC pays Butch 200k per month and that will happen ever month until 2021. I Ass-u-me that any monies he is paid is subtracted from that 200k each month then again 10RC may have wanted him gone so bad they waived that requirement. Unless Butch wants that whistle and needs to get back on the grass in 2019 then he and Nick may have a deal where he will continue off the field thus allowing Nick to hire another RB coach or WR coach. Perhaps their plan is if can't get the guy he really wants then Butch will take the gig.

I believe it to be a little to quick for Nick to hire DJ Durkin as the DC however if anybody that haz the sack to make that hire it is one Nick Saban.

Alabama is set to make Charles Huff the newest member of its revamped coaching staff, BamaInsider has learned. Huff is thought to be taking over as the Crimson Tide's running backs coach. Joe Pannunzio currently coaches running backs for Alabama.

Huff, 35, has spent the past two years as Mississippi State’s run-game coordinator and running backs. Before that, he served as Penn State’s special teams coordinator/running backs coach from 2013-17 where he helped developed Pro Bowl running back Saquon Barkley.

Huff has also coached running backs for Western Michigan in 2013 as well as a year with the Buffalo Bills in 2012. During his time in Buffalo, Huff helped C.J. Spiller to his lone Pro Bowl season as the running back rushed for 1,244 yards and six touchdowns while averaging 6.0 yards per carry. Along with coaching running backs, Huff has a background as an offensive line coach at Tennessee State and Maryland.

Last season, Mississippi State ranked No. 20 in the nation in rushing, averaging 223.62 yards per game. The Bulldogs were led by quarterback Nick Fitzgerald, who rushed for 1,121 yards and a team-high 13 touchdowns. In addition, Mississippi State’s top three backs all rushed for more than 6 yards per carry.

Last week, BamaInsider learned Alabama will add Florida defensive line coach Sal Sunseri, Atlanta Flacons assist offensive line coach Kyle Flood and Tennessee special teams coordinator/safeties coach Charles Kelly to its staff. The Crimson Tide also reportedly added Steve Sarkisian as its next offensive coordinator.

Five assistants from last year’s coaching staff have taken new jobs with other teams as offensive coordinator Mike Locksley (Maryland), defensive coordinator/ outside linebackers coach Tosh Lupoi (Cleveland Browns), co-offensive coordinator/wide receivers coach Josh Gattis (Michigan), associate head coach/ quarterback coach Dan Enos (Miami) and offensive line coach Brent Key (Georgia Tech

At this point it appears Butch is going to continue in his spot of the field for The Nick. No whistle for him in 2019.
I've heard such suggested by more than a few fans but haven't seen anything from anyone I trust to believe that's been settled.

In fact, it's far from it to be honest. I've heard that Lance's interview wasn't an all-star performance and Saban has been in contact with others for the WR coaching position. If he doesn't find his guy—versus Butch—we may be looking at Butch remaining as an analyst.
