I just assume it’s all semantics. They don’t officially offer anyone the job. They say,“If you were offered the Alabama job, would you accept?”. Technically they aren’t offering the job, just gauging your interest IF you were offered the gig.

While true to a degree, guys like Norvell and Sark never even got the wink and nod offer. It was all a leverage game. The media and opposing fans will say what they want, and it doesn’t really matter, but it’s the truth.
