| FTBL Alabama football coaching staff changes and updates...

let's go back to the basic:

1. Who has been calling the plays this year: T-Robinson and Steele together.
2. Who got those guys playing much better?: T-Robinson
3. Who deserve this job? T-Robinson.

T-Robinson is likely to be the new DC.
Trob is fine with me.. Stong has been here several years and times.. bring him in too.. search should be easy

I'm not sold on Strong. Push him to a side roll and work with an up and comer that has something to prove. Strong has had three big coaching gigs, so it's time for him to remain in the back seat in my mind.
Strong has been apart of the team a while in some capacity.. so I figured why not.. he knows the system.. It would be continuity.. instead of hiring a complete stranger

He's making money and staying somewhat relevant is why he sticks around. He's learning from Saban as well. I just think we need someone new, or someone like a Pruitt that has shown he can run an effective defense and get in good with the players. I just feel Strong's window has passed, a long time ago.

@TerryP Steele has been between Us and the Barn so many times that I lost count on his actual time in the system. As @Brandon Van de Graaff stated, it may just be “retiring” from an on field role like Pendry. I mentioned Pendry in an earlier post, because I wasn’t sure how many of you noticed him on the sidelines last week.

I missed him completely. This is good news, right?

At this point we all need to move on from Pruitt. He's pretty much done for a while.

Pruitt isn't the answer in today's defense..... He's old school and I don't know if he can adjusts in today's game compared to few years ago.

Strong coached Dline, Dends, Outside and Inside Linebackers before. Maybe he's the answer as a positional coach but I doubt he's going to get a crack straight from analyst to DC.

I still exclusively believe T Rob is our guy until proven otherwise.

Durkin is likely coming in to coach a position also so we will have multiple solid defensive minds on the staff.

We also still need to figure out our WR coach and now that the National Championship is done I'm pretty sure Saban is reaching out to the WR coach for Washington to see if he's interested in the job.

Then we'll need to figure out a coach for DBs unless Trob thinks he can do both

If we're going after a wr coach I think he looks within staff or get one form smaller school

I was just using him as an example of where I think we should head instead of going with an even older product in Charlie Strong. I still don't quiet understand the dynamic around Pruitt and what is and what isn't allowed. Quiet frankly, it doesn't matter either way as I am certain there are others out there better for the job, but I wouldn't be adverse to him being the guy again. Maybe it takes a guy like him to change the game back to where it was. We see bigger linemen being the focal point of recruiting classes now where it used to be smaller guys that could go quick. It's all cyclical.

Just remember Gene Stallings was a washed up head coach, with a horrible record when we choose him..

Understood, but it's a different ball game now than then. background research and preparedness are at a new level these days with the level of salary these guys command as well as the investment into these programs.
