Washington has hired Jedd Fisch‒Arizona. .

Pretty interesting to watch these bigger programs deal with the ripple effect style fallout of Saban retiring... a little late on the calendar for making hires in the more ideal college football world. Now, AZ is on the clock. It would get really interesting if Michigan doesn't just plug-n-play Sherrone Moore as expected when Harbaugh exits this week.

Yea, I have to believe that's the play they're going with since you'd likely not want to let all these coaches find their landing spots before you even start interviews.

I know there's a push to retain Harbaugh but I don't see it happening, he's going to the NFL one way or another.

I heard that TROB interview for the DC job yesterday, but this morning I heard, he stays with puppies?

I went to bed last on the Appeasement Train hoping to keep as many players on the roster as possible and I thought the best plan was to try and retain TRob and a couple of our other coaches. This morning I woke with a ticket on the Fuk'Um Train. Let those that aren't "just too full of Alabama" hit the road asap. 6-6 and some shitty bowl ain't all that bad. Seems like the Goat made a trip to one of those bowls in year one.

I hope Kalen clears the bitches from the 85 we can have and soon.

Doubting it, once again, Michigan and Harbaugh are intentionally dragging this out past the enrollment period for schools. They saw what happened to other schools and they're planning accordingly. They won't lose anyone until after Spring.

Unlikely college, the NFL doesn't have anything going on until Feb 1st that he should be doing right now. He doesn't have to get signed on and start recruiting or keeping his roster. Free agency and draft preparation will start soon but teams can do that pretty easily and have unfettered access unlike college recruiting.

That's not what's happening. It's how NFL works.... They don't typically start hiring people until like AFC NFC championship week or shortly after game is over. The interview process is complicated.

Not really, NFL hires happen later because they aren't on a time crunch like Colleges. A lot of these places may even wait until after the SB to make their hire. Titans are likely hiring today or tomorrow their guy. If these places wanted to hire last week they could but there's no rush because once again...there's nothing for a new NFL coach to do right now except maybe some draft prep and free-agency scouting.

Michigan and Harbaugh know this, and they're exploiting it to Michigan's advantage

That wouldn't keep the portal from opening up for 30 days, would it? I am aware of enrollments, etc. but that's just delaying the inevitable because its going to open anyway on the 16th of April.

It doesn't matter..... 30 days window opens up. Unlikely Michigan are doing this. I'm not arguing with you on this.. because the window can open any time. I'm sure there's way to get ppl to enroll....

you'd have to apply for a waiver from the NCAA or SEC I believe to allow a student athlete to enroll. I've only seen them ever give waivers where players needed to move closer to family for health reasons or were transferring down football divisions. Maybe there's an exception to that rule somewhere but it's unlikely they'd let 10-15 kids leave and use the rule just because. NCAA is slow on everything...

To both your points, yes the portal opens. The issue is not that the portal is open, it's that the kids who transfer out can't enroll until Fall at their new schools like those that transfer after the Spring portal it's the same rules that would apply here.

The move by Michigan and Harbaugh is VERY smart, it's a loophole, but it's smart. How best to keep the roster intact when a coach leaves? Draw it along until the roster isn't able to enroll until fall, thus buying yourself more time to convince the kids to stay.
