Interesting for Luke. I figured he would stay retired. Younger kids.......10 million dollar buyout from Ole Miss. Invested correctly, that would last a life time. I think he will do well for Dabo.
A year ago he said he was done with coaching. Mullen said the same thing and he was flirting with 'Cuse.

Luke was done with the administration of coaching a team. Not coaching.

Don’t know if this has already been posted but it looks like Bama’s about to lose a good coach. Bama doesn’t need the distraction right now but at least it shouldn’t impact recruiting as much as it would have before the early signing period.

As eluded to in the thread, there's movement going on.

If he wins it all, is he still gone?

Really hard to say and depends on who you ask. Personally, I don't think him winning or losing in the playoffs has any bearing on it. Again, everything I've heard said it depends on his available options. Had heard from someone on the NFL side of things a month or so ago that Carolina and Vegas would be a possibility. I've since been told by the same person the Carolina thing is unlikely, in part to the direction they want to go but they also think he’d a very poor fit with Young who they are still invested in (literally and figuratively). He's also been tied to the Bears and Chargers by some agent talk, but at least with the Bears job, his actions in the past leave him undesirable by some in the front office. Touched on this a bit ago, but while he wants back in the NFL, not everyone in the NFL wants him back. Some owners with certain personalities (Davis in Oakland for example) would still go for him. Most others would weigh the good with the bad and likely pass. He'd also demand/want full control, and that's always a sticky point when dealing with some teams, owners, and front office as well.

But, the last thing he wants to do is not coach. And UM, despite his warts, knows that upgrading or even finding an equal to him is unlikely. They want to keep him. For all the negatives and distractions he brings, the guy also loves Michigan, and that goes a long way with them. Worth mentioning too that JJ McCarthy who was set to return for a final season is now leaning to go pro. IMO, that decision could have a big impact on what Harbaugh ultimately does. If McCarthy announces he's returning, it'll be because Harbaugh talked him into it and a good indicator that he is likely to stick around as well. I will add, the belief is that if he did bolt to the NFL, he'd recommend (privately and publicly) Sherrone Moore for the job.

It's going to be interesting to watch it unfold if he wins.
