Jimbo doesn’t need the money but it’s a pride thing. He was paid very well at FSU and A&M (too well). That establishes his ā€œvalue.ā€ Why would he decrease his value by going to a MAC school or a lower tier BIG10 or ACC school? Those schools that may look at him need to be aware that he’s likely to leave after only a few years. Why bring someone in to build a program if they’re going to leave when the first big program comes calling?
Because it's the only shot he's got. No major school should touch him. Every coach who wins at a lower level school is likely to leave when the first big program comes calling, just part of the haves and the have mores.

I think he fits best right where he is unless his fire for football has changed greatly.
Running his mouth at 90mph on an ACC podcast is his best fit in my view. He can be as outlandish as he wants (like claiming the '13 FSU team was the best of all time.)

I'll watch several episodes of ACC Huddle this fall. I hope I don't start seeing him as much as some of the guests on SEC Now with little to offer.

Highlight of his career? NC at FSU or coaching the team that stopped Saban’s win streak vs the unranked? BTW, that’s one record that won’t ever be broken.

The NC did the most for his career... but the win over Saban likely did the most for his ego. I hate that he got to enjoy that win... and I bet deep down if he was honest, Saban would say the same.
