💬 With sights on Jimbo Fisher, LSU formulates plan for potential quick hire next weekend

nope... unless the level of grumbling after this disappointing season at FSU has reached an intolerable level for him.

it will take a special type of fella to take the LSU job at this point. there is decay in the team that has been deepening since 08-09... It will take a couple of years and several dismissals to get that train on track.

so if he goes to lsu.....that will make 4 former Saban assistants, as head coaches at other sec teams.
But, the other three are on the East side of the SEC! He would be the first to have to face Coach Saban year in and year out! Is Alabama the first to product two coaches that had Coaching Assistant that are now head coach at other schools?

I think that LSU gets an Alabama Slap in the face this year.. like what we got when we had to hire Shula. We offered that job and got turned down by everyone with a heartbeat who had ever coached a football game it felt like. Then were down to Shula and Croom because literaly no one else would take it. Our booster situation was out of control, we were on probation and were gonna suck for a while, and of course we still had our normal expectations.. it took me down a few pegs and made me miss what we had and thankful for what we have now.

I think LSwho is about to get the same teachable moment.. turned down by Jimbo, Herman and start begging NFL coaches who all use it for a raise and turn them down. They will end up with an unhappy Orgeron because he knows he was the last choice or some assistant who isn't ready for the job like their defensive coordinator or Auburn's quarter back coach turned offensive coordinator.

Sometimes when your expectations are so high that you fire a successful coach who has done it right.. nobody else wants to step into that job and get fired for doing a good job. So by doing this they have actually made their job look less attractive, then factor in the job is in the toughest division in the NCAA, you compete against Saban for your lively hood and you will smell like corn dogs everyday for a few years and that job really sucks.

They will have no one to blame but themselves... it sucks and we should know we where there once too.

Speaking of Herman @Destiny's Child, I'm beginning to think Herman's going to stay at Houston. The more I read about the guy, the more I really like the guy.

He seems to me like the guy that's going to repay Houston for giving him a chance, he and his wife struggled for years with low paying jobs...the things he's done to help people around the program, paying for things he didn't have to pay for, fixing things he didn't have to fix.

I, too, think Herman will stay in Houston. They can afford to keep him (they have some billionaires, too). I think, however, he bolts when Meyer leaves OSU.
