🏈 Update: Hugh Freeze verbally agrees 4 year extension at Ole Miss

Take it FWIW, but my guy is telling me that sources in Oxford are saying Freeze has been offered the UF job.

Is it true? You know as much as I do, but if it is, he better strike while the iron is hot!

Per my source in Gainesville, Florida has offered Ole Miss HC Hugh Feeze the Gators job. Freeze is “weighing his options."

Source in Oxford confirms, that Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze has been offered the Florida job.

Florida being perhaps the best job in college football has him torn, $$ not an issue for Freeze in decision on to stay or leave Ole Miss.

Best available job open so far, sure. I think a good coach knows that they can win there and recruiting will be easier than Michigan (which I assume will be open sooN).

I can't agree with you on their facilities. We're just a little over a month and a half removed from UF announcing they were going to start fundraising for an indoor football facility. The Gators, and Vandy, are the last two in the conference without some type of indoor football practice field. (yes, that's calling UGA's a field.)

Yup, they are in need of some facility upgrades. But their AD doesn't seem to agree, he said this recently after the Muschamp announcement.

"We're not into bells and whistles," Foley said. "We're not getting into an arms race, and they're not any issue in my opinion affecting our success."

My comment was in reference to this tweet. I would rate Florida after about 7-10 other schools at the moment...I'd actually rate Texas A&M ahead of Florida at this point.

I think I'm not remembering all of this correctly.

I know there was something in his life that took time away from football coaching and Ole Miss allowed him to do so. It reminded me of Ron Middleton when I read it...but, for the life of me, I can't seem to put together the details.

Probably posted this on another thread, but I am on an SEC board whereby a UF fan gave two names, Freeze and Rich Rod, back when it became inevitable that boom was gone. The same UF fan that had been laughed off the board two or three days before their last hire when he gave one name, Muschamp. Now that Rich Rod has removed his name, that leaves this UF fan with one name, Freeze. Perhaps the guy is sleeping with Foley's secretary. It might not even be a guy. It might be Foley's secretary.

If that's the case it won't be because Ole Miss is a better job or Foley doesn't like him: that last part couldn't be more wrong.

Does the late season collapse have any bearing on the choice? I know some of the Florida lettermen don't like the association with the "Tire man" in Oxford.

My gut tells me IF Foley hires Freeze, it'll be Zook Part Duex: minus recruiting success.

One of those closet Ole Miss fans that have hidden themselves the past few weeks told me yesterday his contacts in gatorville said Dabo was on their short list. I couldn't help a big grin when he said that. I don't think Foley is that stupid.
