| LIFE Thought for the Day

The most wasted of days is one without laughter.
- B. B. Cummings.
Life's too short to worry
Life's too long to wait
Well, it's too short not to love everybody
And life is too long to hate"
I meet a lot of men who haggle, finagle all the time
Just tryin' to save a nickel and make a dime
Not me," she said, "No sir-ee
You know I ain't a-got the time

- Miss Virgie, as told to Todd Snider

“If ye love wealth better than Liberty, the tranquility of servitude, than the animating contest of freedom; then go from us in peace.
Crouch down and kiss the hand which feeds you.
May your chains set lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were once our countrymen.”
— Sam Adams

Strong drink in some form is the remedy for every sickness, the cordial for every sorrow. It must grace the festivity of the wedding; it must enliven the gloom of the funeral. It must cheer the intercourse of friends and enlighten the fatigue of labor. Success deserves a treat and disappointment needs it. The busy drink because they are busy; the idle because they have nothing else to do. The farmer must drink because his work is hard; the mechanic because his employment is sedentary and dull. It is warm, men drink to be cool; it is cool, they drink to be warm.
