🏈 The Good, The Bad and The Ugly vs. Jawga

Wow, some of last night's GBU comments are way out there.

Good - Saban, the staff and the team took a rebuilding year and parlayed it to a fighting chance at a NC.
Bad - Pass drops.
Ugly - The injury bug that left us with depleted secondary, WR and RB groups, and greatly impacted OL performance and continuity.

There are many what-ifs throughout a game. BOB was unhinged when Billingsley slipped on a sure first drive TD, had the matchup he wanted. Drops by our young guys, one by Hall on a sure TD right in the bread basket. A missed tackle on their long run, and it goes on. The thin margin we've lived on in some NC games was not to be.

I've said it a number of times, even early in the season, that next year we will be a much stronger team and should win a NC, and that anything this team accomplished this year would have NC bookends around it. I still believe it. I'm not a betting man at all, but I would wager that Bama will win another NC before GA will. They will have a real drop-off next year.

The sun will come up soon, and we'll all go about our business. My Georgia friends will crow, as well they should because it's been a while. I've heard three cycles of 17-year cicadas since I heard valid Georgia NC yells.

Well put sir!

Hey, ya can't win 'em all. But Bama comes closer than anyone else to doing just that.

The Good: Bama was ahead with a few minutes left in the game despite all the injuries. We outgained them in total yards, first downs, and 3rd down efficiency. FG kicking was good - the one miss was a block which was on the OL. This team went further than I thought they would this year.

The Bad: Unbelievable bad luck with non-contact knee injuries to our starting receivers over the last few weeks. Injuries are part of the game - but it still sucks. Bryce had precious few long ball targets in the second half.

The Ugly: I have to live in Georgia with an obnoxious fan base.

Good:
-The defense in general. They hung in there pretty dang good!
-Reichard was awesome...
-I thought Bryce played a heck of a game. He made some fantastic throws and held up under pressure
-Coach Saban's overall coaching job this year.... So much improvement for the D, OL, and QB. It was a good ride!

Bad:
-Dropped passes. Wasn't just 1 guy... A lot of guys... A good lesson on why developing depth (before the last game of the year) is so important
-Settling for field goals. Wasn't blown away by the red zone play calling. To go back to the good - Bryce made some TD throws! I like our TE's... But there's room for improvement. Just didn't finish & execute at a championship level
-The strategy before half. Very confusing. Went from ultra aggressive going hurry up with 3 mins left... unnecessarily.... To allowing Kirby to run the clock out. Just did not make sense to me
-I thought Bryce played a really good game.... But to not have any running yards was disappointing. Think about how the Georgia defense was let off the hook in that fashion.... A legitimate threat that wasn't realized for most of the season!

Ugly:
-This hangover. Damn. RTR!

The Good: The defense was not responsible for the loss. They played hard and for the most part, very well.

The Bad: I don't want to sound like A Texas fan, who made losing their quarterback the reason for their loss to us a few years back. However, Bryce losing both of his key receivers, receivers that were both healthy during the SEC Championship Game, played a MAJOR part in our offenses difficulties last night. Losing them played a major part of our offense against a strong Georgia defense. Georgia's defensive weakness was their secondary, and we lost the ability to attack that with the loss of Metchie and Williams.

The Ugly: To win the national championship you need some luck on the injury front. We did not have that luck this year. In spite of that bad luck, we defeated the National Champions, and still ended up with the second best team, according to polls (Not Me), in the nation.

I am proud of our athletes, who worked so hard and gave their all to bring home the trophy this year. I will wear my Bama clothing PROUDLY!

This team has come a long way....a few dropped passes...blocked FG...injuries all over the place..young players stepping up...
It was quite an effort....and a motivated uga team with lots of stars...

Roll Tide

Good: The defense kept Alabama in the game.
Bad: The young receivers didn't step up.
Ugly: Fans blaming O'Brien, Golding and Saban for blowing it. Alabama lost so much from the 2020 team and yet beat out 127 other teams to get into the finals. Losing the top WR after losing the other top WR a few weeks ago. That left Slade Bolden as the top WR who caught 7 (season high) but only 6.3 yards per catch.
