🏈 The anti-Bama campaign is alive and kicking tonight....

I still don't see how Okie State could pass a team as dominant as Alabama being in the SEC, only losing once in OT by 3 pts to the Number 1 team in the land. Would be total Bull$hit.

Bama should still go--let me say that up front.

However, VA Tech is getting boat raced by Clemson, which will probably allow Okie State to jump to #3 w/ Stanford being done. The computers love Okie State for some reason so the climb in the coach's poll could make things interesting.

Ultimately, I think Okie State would have to win by 100 but they are certainly making things interesting tonight

you asking OK st to go from 5 to 3 in the 2 human polls when only 1 team in front of them lost. If the voters actually let that happen, its more of a crock than the BCS already is.

Nope, worse than that. Some in the Harris Poll already said they would jump them to 2, over us, with a win over OU and were openly campaigning for their counterparts to do the same. I really don't think as many coaches will do the same but Harris worries me and OSU will move to #2 in the computers. No doubt.

how does OSU jump Stanford in the 2 human polls that go into the BCS?

OSU has more quality wins than either Bama or Stanford. Some voters, especially Big 12 coaches and Harris Poll voters, will bump OSU up to number 2.

If my understanding of the BCS is right they'll need to get above .9442 in order to pass Alabama, assuming you guys don't lose ground in the human polls (unlikely but also unpredictable.)

Already 5 coaches have someone else ranked above Bama at #2. Assuming no coach has either team lower than 3 (likely and easily predictable) OSU would need to take roughly 35 of the 59 second place coaches votes to overtake you guys. (so 30 more than they have now.)

In the Harris poll OSU would need to make up 300 points going from 2414 to 2714 which means (making the same assumptions about both teams being no lower than 3) they would need 69 of the 115 voters to put them second.

I got to think that's too much of a gap for them to overcome. Even though they are destroying Oklahoma.

I am not implying Okie State jumps Bama in the human polls, they won't. The final BCS standings are a bit more uncertain at the moment.
