🏈 Random Thought

Terry, I'd be FLOORED if Hart looked like the same player this season. The 12-18 mo window is what surgeons consider normal for an average person to be functional in their daily lives. Hart doesn't have the average daily life, obviously. With any knee surgery you are left with residual weakness in the VMO--it just happens. It takes longer to snap back to normal for some than others but the moral here is that leg just won't be the same this year. I can't think of an RB that exploded back onto the scenes a the season immediately following an ACL. Monster in the weight room or not, when big dudes start flying around at knee level he'll hesitate, it is normal. That's not to say he won't have a good year. Hell, I'd have taken Hightower one year s/p ACL than most of the healthy LBs on our roster. I still say you've got another year before you see the true Dee Hart. If he looks as explosive as he once did and has all of his speed, hits the hole hard, plays like he wasn't hurt, etc I'll revisit this and eat my crow. However, based on my experience with knees, particularly ACL injuries and the last impact of them, I still say you'll have a productive back who will come back the following season and be the guy you recruited him to be.
