NCAA Women's Golf Championships: Finals Arizona vs Bama Wed 5/23 2:25p

STILLWATER, Okla. – Lauren Stephenson did something this season that no women’s college golfer had ever done. Not Lorena Ochoa. Not Amanda Blumenherst. Not Leona Maguire.
Stephenson, a junior from Lexington, S.C., played 33 rounds of stroke play this season and posted a 69.76 stroke average, the first sub-70 scoring average in NCAA Division I women’s golf history.

Choke job
I've played that course more than a half of a dozen times...that was no choke job. Pressure? Yes. Choke? Hellsa no.

FWIW, I see this shaping up the same way it did when Bama lost to Texas--next year is a title. Two great recruits coming in and the team is only losing two.

Abe did a great job on 17 just to take it to a playoff. I would have taken my club and wrapped it around a tree and then proceeded to triple bogey 18 and lost in regulation. Future is bright for the ladies!!

One day, you and I need to play. After all...I always love free drinks and food.

I gave up on golf years ago!! I didn't care that much about getting better and I have too much of a baseball swing! Let me use my fungo bat from the tee box and I'm good!!

You obviously a had lack of aiming fluid and swing lube. :naughtydevil:

I grew up a 3 sport athlete and didn't pick up golf until I started teaching at the age of 24. I have an uncle that plays competitively in the Senior Olympic Games and he always tried to coach me up when we played. I was more of a grip and rip kind of player, didn't care what I shot. When my kids were born, I retired the clubs and worked on teaching my son a couple of hobbies that are much closer to my heart; UA athletics, fishing, and hunting!!!

Choke job

Willing to bet you're not below a 10 on the golf course. Might even be willing to put money on you being above a 15.

I’m terrible. So bad that I don’t play anymore. I realize it wasn’t a choke job. Disappointing for sure because everything had lined up for us to win the title until the back 9.

We had multiple chances on the last 3-4 holes as well. I was disappointed because we played great golf all year, but just gave out of gas. Arizona had beaten #1, #2, and #5, so they deserved it.
