The Crimson Tide will tee off in the three-day event Sunday morning

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. –
The Alabama women's golf team will head to Melbourne, Fla., to compete in the first event of the spring season at the Moon Golf Invitational. The three-day, 54-hole event is hosted by the University of Louisville and will take place at the par 72, 6467-yard Suntree Country Club.

THE LINEUP

  • The Crimson Tide's lineup for the event will feature Molly Brown Davidson, Mattison Frick, Harriet Lockley, Ryan Flynn and Kennedy Carroll
  • Freshman Molly Brown Davidson ended the fall campaign with the second-best overall stroke average (73.60) and rounds of par or better (7)
  • Frick enters the field leading UA in overall stroke average (73.27) and rounds of par or better (8)
  • Lockley joins Davidson and Frick as one of four Crimson Tide golfers to be named to the starting lineup in each event of the fall season
  • Ryan Flynn and Kennedy Caroll round out the Tide's starting five in the event

TOURNAMENT PREVIEW

  • The teams will compete in a five-count-four stroke-play format
  • The Tide will tee off in the opening round at 8:40 a.m. CT on hole No. 1, paired alongside Florida State and Wake Forest
  • Joining Alabama in the 17-team field is Auburn, Augusta, Clemson, Florida State, Louisville, LSU, Ole Miss, UNC, Northwestern, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, UCF, Virginia and Wake Forest
 

Alabama’s Molly Brown Davidson leads the way for the UA in 3rd place

MELBOURNE, Fla. –
The Alabama women's golf team sits in 12th place after the opening round of the Moon Golf Invitational with a team total of 10-over par 298. Leading the way for the Crimson Tide is Molly Brown Davidson, in a tie for 3rd place on the player leaderboard with a score of 1-under par 71.

THE HIGHLIGHTS

  • Molly Brown Davidson's opening round of 71 is her third round under par this season, finishing the day tied for third place while posting a trio of birdies
  • Harriet Lockley sits just inside the top-30, with a first round score of 2-over par 74, finishing in tied for 29th overall
  • Mattison Frick posted a pair of birdies and improved by three strokes on the back-9, wrapping up the first round in a tie for 40th place at 3-over par 75
  • Ryan Flynn sits in 71st place overall after carding a 6-over par 78 in the opening round
  • Rounding out the lineup is Kennedy Carroll in a tie for 78th place at 7-over par 79

TEAM RESULTS

  • No. 7 Florida State sits in first place on the team leaderboard at 2-under par 286
  • Ole Miss' Nicole Gal sits atop the player leaderboard at 2-under par 70
  • The Crimson Tide will begin the second round of the Moon Golf Invitational on Monday, Feb. 17, beginning at 9:40 a.m. CT
