Not disputing what you heard, that doesnt really makes since to me. Julio plays the X and Maze is a Y. Having Julio on the field getting bracketed opens opportunities up for Maze.
I'm think it was in this thread, perhaps another. I mention Gibson served as JJ's backup this year. Maze is listed at 5-10 [cough][/cough] and isn't the prototypical X in Saban's offense.
Maze wouldn't project high enough in the draft as he currently stands to warrant going out early. Barron will need some time to heal and regain playing form after tearing his pec. With another solid season, Barron could solidify himself as a first rounder if he can regain his form of old.
