🏈 How Do I Start Petition/Movement For Saban Field ?

I'm interested in starting a movement to get the field at BDS named after CNS. What would be the best way to go about it ? I do have a twitter account, but I'm not very savvy with it. ( I've never tweeted anyone before :doh2:)

Anyhow it would seem if I tweeted the UA account that sends me all my weekly info, and appears to be in charge of all things UA football that maybe it could catch on.

I do think Saban would like having the Field named after him.

That is where the game is played. That is where cleats meet grass, and he doesn't have to share it with anyone.

It's Saban field forever. You could tell UA players for as long as football is played at Bama that you dont step on Saban field unless you are ready to play to Sabans standards. It's a good way to keep his spirit alive long after we are all gone.

It needs to get done. I need hashtag ideas. Isn't that how its done ? I send a tweet with a hashtag that others can follow ? I'm not kidding I really am not sure how to go about it, but I feel like it would be fun to try it. If the UA account retweeted, or replied that they would look into it that would be a real accomplishment IMO.

Anyhow any ideas or feedback appreciated on how to bring this idea to UA. (or at least get a response) It's time. This man has done as much for Bama athletics, and the community as a whole as anyone ever has.

Thanks.

So, I need a hashtag, to go with the tweet, right ? I mean that is what I'd be trying to get to go "viral" right ? Then I could post the hashtag at all the Bama online sites, and tell them to "retweet it?" Is this correct ?

I just remember us making fun of this, when it happens in that other place!

Someone tried this before ? What other place ? And why would anyone make fun of it ?

He's talking about Auburn naming the field "Pat Dye Field." A lot of schools have done this. Troy's field is "Larry Blakeney Field."

I'm good with it, I think its a great idea actually, but would rather it happen after Coach Saban has decided to retire. That's not something I would think he would even want while he is still active.

Thanks.

Just @gregbyrne I believe. You can go into the search engine and type in his name and it will give you his handle.

They really need to rename neyland stadium Saban stadium

Needs to be after he retires. Also, the stadium name needs to stay the same, the two biggest guys in building the program. Let them name the field after him and rename a street after him, like 10th Avenue, make it Nick Saban Avenue, again after he retires.

As much as I respect Nick, we all thought JoePa was a good guy until we found out different.

And... Candy could be Bryant-Saban Stadium North.

I don't have a problem with it...it doesn't matter to me if he is retired or not. Heck, that kind of move might get him to coach a year or two longer. Lol.

IMO, it sounds like something done upon retirement (yes, I know that BDS was named while Bryant was still coaching).
Funny you should mention that. When the statutes were being placed around the Walk of Champions I heard several suggest that Bama should have waited until Saban retires. Of course, that was following the first national title and their warning was "what if it doesn't happen again?"

Yesterday, when I started thinking about this, I too was of the opinion let's just leave the stadium alone for now. I do love the idea of renaming a street after him. However, my choice on the name would be..."Saban Way." (IE: Appian Way in ancient Rome.)
