🏈 Hope UGA brings the Blackout

I got a great feeling Bama will beat UGA. I got the same feeling I did when we played UGA in Athens and they brought out the black jerseys. Maybe the kool-aid I am drinking but Alabama will beat UGA. I will hang up and watch the flames.

If our Offense can't get consistent, the D will be worn out long before this game is over. With the exception of putting on their helmets, the offense needs to get better in every facet of their game to beat UGA

Coker has to complete some passes down field to open up the running game for Henry and Drake. Kiffin really has to be dedicated to getting Drake touches though. Defense will keep us in it as long as the offense can make some plays.

Its easy to say that but yall know as well as I do that those corners are going to sit on the short routes, especially those lil bubble screens, and there is gonna be just one safety back deep because no one respects the long ball right now. They will stick 8 in the box and dare us to throw it deep. Kiffin HAS to try the deep ball and for us to win Coker is gonna have to hit a few of those this year just to make em respect it. Not to mention our line isnt exactly dominating right now so if we are gonna get Henry and Drake any room at all need to back that defense off some.

I agree with this. No one respects our passing game, so we're essentially giving the defense the advantage to stack the box and take their chances with getting beat deep. Statistics are sitting on Georgia's side.

Drake is running very timid and favoring th r ankle, so I think he simply needs to be spread out and utilize his speed like last year against Florida. Get Henry, Harris, and Scarborough in the backfield and work that angle.

Stopping the running game with Chubb is only half the equation in considering how to slow down the Leghumpers. Lambert has a 201 QB Rating, has completed 76 percent of his passes, and has yet to throw an interception since arriving at the pound. He has credibility. The Bama D has its work cut out for Saturday.

The total lack of any down field passing game has killed the effectiveness of the screen passes. There is not a team in the country right now that would feel compelled to "prepare" for Alabama downfield passing other than reminding their center fielder to be ready to catch at least one shitty duck pass lobbed up at some point in the game.

The defense can keep us in the UGA game but the offense will have to perform better than they have thus far to have any chance to win. This will be Coker's first road game and in an SEC stadium to boot. I hope it is not the case but I foresee major communication problems and more confusion on the part of the offense

The run game is what has made Lambert an effective passer. Their play-action game has been killer as a result as well. I watched some of their game Saturday and while it was Southern they were playing, Coker could complete 75% of his throws against corners playing 10-12 yards off.

@uagrad I saw only the highlights, but it did seem like some pretty easy pitch and catch stuff for the most part. Is that something Bama can defend and take away effectively though?

Also, earlier this season I was thinking UGA's d-line looked smallish. Now I'm wondering: can we still get enough push or effective run blocking with the current linemen?

Lot of questions there, but here's another. Does it seem like to you we aren't even picking up twists? Maybe it was just a single play or two, but now I'm wondering what's up and thinking maybe the line isn't picking up rushers on a regular basis. Is that solely a center's call or other linemen or is Coker involved?

I know on one play where Damien Harris was in at RB the linebackers "crossed" and neither one of them was picked up. i don't know the Bama blocking scheme there but obviously the guard has to take one and the RB the other. In this case neither one blocked and the play got blown up

I think our front 7 will take away the 8-12 yard runs that UGA has been used to getting. This makes the PA less effective. I haven't seen our secondary get sucked in and burned so I don't think it will start.

I don't see Pruitt changing their defense to sending pressures on every snap like Wisky, MTSU, Ole Miss to an extent, and ULM. I see him simply lining them up and saying his are better than ours. This should give our guys confidence.

When it comes to picking up stunts and twists, the thing to do is block the area and pass the guy off to the next man, DON'T CHASE. Making calls is a philosophy thing to me. Homer Smith used to put it all on the QB. Whether it was identifying the safeties, the Mike, slide protection, keeping a TE in for protection, keeping backs in or release for hot routes, or inserting the back into protection for an inside blitz. With Saban, it looks like both are responsible.
