| LIFE CV-19: Effects on life, work, and sports

Why is not a question to expect answers to with only partial info. It could be their healthcare system (extremely socialized) is to blame to some extent. It could be that they were in a period where travelers from other impacted areas or Italians travelling to impacted areas were much higher than other places. It could be due to the overall age of Italians (5th oldest in the world at 45.5 median age). It could be their population density (200 per sq km) It could be a mix of all of those. Personally, I would bet a mix between high travel rates (and lower border control) and high median age and high population density. By contrast, the US has a median age of 38.1 (61st) and a population density of 34 per sq km.

You're going to be dealing with a lot of that, especially if the state forces a quarantine. A lot of these couch patriots are bragging about no one can make them stay at home.

One thing for sure this better open this countries eyes about is the fact that we HAVE to start manufacturing in this country again.

Have you seen the videos of spring breakers talking about it? I will never doubt the stupidity of humanity again after this whole mess.

Try going to college with them. If any of these fucktards end up in an ICU with a plastic air bubble over their face as doctors try to keep mucus from drowning their respiratory system, I hope then they realize that maybe delaying gratification is sometimes a wise thing.

Today they closed all public places including daycares, bars, restaurants, etc. There’s still drive up and the liquor stores are open, but no more than 10 people can be in a store at a time and people are losing their shit. While on shift today (some of us are doing 14 hr shifts and some are doing 6-8 hr shifts) people were bitching to me about the closures like the PD came up with the damn rules.

Had a guy today tell me “let’s see you redcoats try that martial law with us, you’ll have a shit storm on your hands from us patriots” there was a lot I wanted to tell him like “you’re a damn idiot” to start, but kept it at “ok buddy”. Shit is going to get sporty directly. We’re up to 18 positive cases in 72 hrs

Tell retard that colonists didnt fight the British because of a pandemic.

My city pretty much closed down today. Grocery and medical are the exceptions until 4/3 and then only 10 at a time. Glad we finished what little we had for 2-3 weeks in the last few days. Might be eating home-made cheeseburger macaroni but we will eat.

Be safe all.

My sister is an ICU nurse and she currently has a patient with covid-19 and they have a few more they believe will also test positive. She's very concerned for many reasons about this. Pray for these folks on the front line.

@RollllTide! What I've read about Italy suggests that age, high percentage of smokers, how they greet people have contributed combined with Italy not moving fast enough initially, an incubation period with lack of symptoms and necessity for ICU.

I believe we're going to be a remote workforce for some time to come.

My agency put 4 of us on the IR today for at least the next 14 days because of fevers. Highest mine has gone is 101.3, the other 3 were right around there.

Stay safe and healthy fellas

My daughter manages a nursing home.....
Talk about a pressure job....making sure every day...nothing is brought into that facility....
And doctors and nurses.... geeze

At the ABC store yesterday had to stand in line for 20 minutes. They would let 5 people in at a time. When my turn came I had to stand on a spot and one of the employees took my order and delivered it to the checkout stand where I had to stand on another spot to pay. Everyone had on gloves. It was actually an efficient process. I wish they wouldn't shorten the hours. They closed the other stores in the area. That's bad when you are at home and can't have a drink.

Think I'm going to make some moonshine.

I just need a recipe

1. plant corn.
2. get back with me after harvest.

IF you're looking for something to pass the time ... here's a thread you should read.

If there was a device that accessed a data base which allowed people to look up things like "moonshine + recipe" ... 🙃

This thread, and curiosity, led me to go ask my neighbor where his recipes come from ... he recommended a few sites, one being WideOpenEats ... I can attest for how smooth it is...carries a bit of a punch.

It's not only the recipe but the method as well how many times is it distilled. A friend got me a quart by a maker in Gadsden best whisky I've had in my life bar none. Each quart has a stick of charred oak in it. It has a different buzz similar to tequila.
