| LIFE CV-19: Effects on life, work, and sports

There is also the "buffer week" between week 10 (12/5) and the SEC Championship game (12/19). Supposedly that is when Vandy will have their rescheduled game with Missouri that got postponed this week.

I can see Vandy and Mizzou having no bearing on who plays for the SECC, but UF's role could be decided on the UGA game should we win Saturday. UGA game falls after the bye weeks. I wonder if they're willing to take that chance. West representative would have an extra week of rest but might not know their opponent until the week before.

RTR,

Tim

What is the current bar capacity allowed in Alabama, and Jeffco/Bham in particular? I was surprised how much more spacing there was on Saturday in Vestavia and Mountain Brook than I see in Pell City (none) and Georgia (very little). We were thinking of a Bham craft beer tour over an upcoming weekend with friends, but if capacities are artificially low we may have to postpone. Thanks.

Would be an interesting decision for sure.

If lsu and Florida dont start playing some D....then that game wont have any bearing on the sec championship game either...lol

99+ % will survive it. It is 99+% political. The Karen's will say its more dangerous than not wearing your seatbelt and just let your ass cheeks do the worrying. I'm just very worn out with the political theater. Come on November third.
We've had 4 folks where I work come down with it in just the last 2 weeks...now all (around 35 employees) of us have to go this a.m. and get tested. I can tell you this from what we're seeing here, doesn't matter if you wear a mask or not, IMO, the guys that have it all wore their stuff religiously... full blown mask, gloves, and face shields, we're talking the works and now 4 of them actually have COVID, not just tested positive, they actually have the symptoms and will be out for at least 10 days.... guess what I'm trying to say is, if this hadn't been an election year this would have just been another "Flu" like series we go through every year where folks have to call in sick.... BTW, none of the people that have it have been hospitalized, clinic that verified (tested) told them if the symptoms got worse go to the emergency room or call 911.

How do you come to this conclusion? It's still prevalent around the world.
look at CDC chart above as of recent cases The trend has been going down to equal the beginning numbers now. If it spikes back up I will eat my post but in my opinion the pandemic part of this is in the past. A good video from Australia

Right. So far, I know 5 people directly (not just saying I heard someone had it, but actual direct friends and/or business associates in the workplace). Without exception, all 5 described having headaches and mild - I repeat, mild - cold symptoms. In each case, they said if they hadn't been tested, they would have thought it was allergies that they get this time of year. They got tested because of the global panic about it. I also know personally an NFL offensive lineman. He told me about how often a positive test turns out negative the next day when they have to re-test. He also told me that the players on his team that have gotten it have gotten headaches for a few days and nothing else.

Coronaviruses have been known to us and studies since the 60s. They are not new. COVID-19 is a new strain. But the treatments are still the same. Team COVID people get so sanctimonious and self-righteous if anyone dares to question the information propagated by governments - the think governments and their "scientists" are somehow immune from corruption, bias and political agendas. That's crazy. While some people think the whole thing is a hoax, many people like myself recognize that the virus exists but the response to it and the policies are ridiculous. It's widely know now that the way they count COVID deaths is quite manipulated - if a person has a long term illness and is terminal but gets COVID due to their weakened state, their death is considered a COVID death. Someone choked to death by the police but during the autopsy tests positive for COVID, is a COVID death. That's not how they count seasonal flu deaths. And why haven't these team COVID people been kicking and pontificating about the 50,000 seasonal flu deaths that happen EVERY YEAR?

BTW, Seasonal flu is also a "global pandemic" and so is the common cold.

I need to stop now.

Again, you are just making stuff up because you want it to be a certain way. There is no argument based in reality that it's not a pandemic.
Based in reality the evidence from CDC's on numbers. It wouldn't be politically correct for them to say it is over because it might spike back up. I am not saying it was not a pandemic. I am saying now it is not. Here is the real pandemic in the US>

Heart attack deaths per year

Heart Attack Facts. 1.5 million heart attacks occur in the United States each year with 500,000 deaths. More than 233,000 women die annually from cardiovascular disease. A heart attack occurs about every 20 seconds with a heart attack death about every minute.

Why don't we shut down smoking, bacon, fried chicken, biscuits & gravy, or cooking with lard.

There are reports coming out of Europe indicating a spike.

I don't fall into the category of "this goes away after the election" I am of the opinion the way it's covered changes. It will no longer be as big of a "talking point" for the DNC.
