6 from the 2011 Crimson Tide team signed Undrafted Free Agent deals. (1) DB, (1) LB, (2) OL, and (2) WR. This is paired with the 8 Draftees Bama signed. That is a lot of talent.

In thinking about that Defense, and believing that all of those starters who will be returning this season will be Drafted next year (correct me if you think I am off base). I believe that Jerrell Harris will be the only '11 "starter" who ends up not out-and-out drafted. To that point, Harris was the LB who inked the UDFA contract. If true, I can't help but wonder if that is the first time that an entire Defensive unit would make it to the NFL, if but for camp.

Those signing included WRs M. Maze and D. Hanks, LB J. Harris, OL A.McCullough, C W. Vlachos, and DB P. Jones.

Who didn't in the draft of '93?

Hell in a Hand Basket.
This site is in trouble with Terry is asking ol' LBS for answers.

That said, there were 5 Defender taken in 1993 and 2 in 1994. I don't know how many were taken as UDFAs, but there seems to be a clear breakout between the two in the eyes of the NFL.

It was rhetorical. If I'm not terribly mistaken, it seems I've heard that the entire defensive starting group in '92 ended up with a team: which were UDFA's? I don't know.

If memory serves, I believe this depends on which roster you are looking at. If you are looking at the 11 that started the Sugar Bowl, I think that all 11 were on an NFL roster at some point. This includes Jeremy Nunley at Nose Tackle who played one season for the Houston Oilers in 1994. At the start of the season, however, James Gregory was starting Nose Tackle and he started the first eight games of the season at that position before going down with an ankle injury. I believe, due to the injury, Gregory was not invited to camp for any NFL team and you could say he was the only member of that unit not to make it to the NFL.

I was thinking about the starting line up for that game against Miami.

You bring up Gregory, who had slipped my mind. That thought brings this question to mind. While Michael Rogers didn't start due to injury, didn't he pick up a contract?

Rogers played through the 94 season. I am pretty sure you are right about him getting a free agent contract. I played with searches on the NFL site and didn't find anything.
