The last couple of years we did a thread like this to sort keep track of the roster, from the guys out of eligibility, the eligible returnees, transfers in and out, the signees, etc. While Bama's season isn't over yet, the spring transfer window opens today (it closes on April 22). About the only thing we can say with certainty is that nobody, not even Oats and his staff right now, know what the roster will look like next season. But as things develop in the days and weeks ahead, we will keep track of the numbers, movements, and announcements in this thread. Lastly, there is a possibility that roster limits will be raised to 15 next year but that number would include walk-ons. There's still some stuff to sort out there behind the scenes and in the courts, and the possibility of all SEC teams staying at 13 for another year is also on the table.

We think Philon stays?

I'd probably keep an eye for Alabama going after two: Josh Hubbard at Mississippi State and Adrian Wooley at Kennesaw State.

Who Oats goes after to spell Sherrell, I have no idea. But we will definitely need more bigs. I think Reid will test the NBA waters; Stevenson unfortunately could transfer out (think he tested it last season, but that could have been rumors).

And unfortunately because this is today's college game, there will likely be a random guy transferring out that makes no sense. Despite fitting in the system and being a lock to be a starter, NIL will always come first.

To me, it's important we keep this group right here. Oats and the staff will be able to find the right pieces to fill in what is an already talented roster. But this group gives you experience, length, quickness, and toughness.

-Holloway has shown he can absolutely be a really good point to run the offense. -Wrightsell is not only an elite shooter, but has the length to close out on D around the perimeter.
-Dioubate provides the toughness around the rim to get boards.
-Sherrell, when given the minutes this season, has been a good 5. Still raw though and doesn't have quick feet to protect the rim.
-I really liked what I saw from Mallette when he played. I think the day one, he understood spacing better than anyone. He had a smooth stroke from outside and really passed the ball well. I think he'd spell Wrightsell if he came back.

Can I just say that Mo Dioubate is my favorite player right now? He busts his butt on every play and he always seems to be around the rim. And last night against St Mary's he was 2-2 on threes. Let him shoot more threes with that kind of percentage. LOL But seriously I think Mo is awesome, and I am glad he's coming back.

From what I'm hearing Philon is a top 15 pick I think he is gone I pray he stays.

If he's looking at being lottery pick, or even close, I think he absolutely goes. No question. And I'll admit right up front, NBA draft stuff is out of my wheelhouse, especially a case like this. I pay little to no attention to mock drafts in any of the major sports but especially the NBA, so I don.t know how well they translate this far out to draft day accuracy. I assume Philon is showing up in many of them though based on the reaction and comments of Bama fans this season (and I am aware there was at least a plan in place for a 1 and done season if things went well). Personally, I'm a bit more tentative to call it a lock though just based off some of the inconsistencies in his game right now. Then again, I didn't see a guy like Primo getting snatched up the way he did at this point in the season/process either. I guess my point is, maybe it's silly, but I have some glimmer of hope that he returns. And if he does, much like Sears coming back (yes, different situation), we can probably thank the NIL rules.

Can you share any details?

Not much to it. Same as it is on the football side and other sports... some players are encouraged to find other spots so that their scholarship will be freed up. You may remember though last season, Pringle was suspended multiple times, including being left off the team plane to Spokane during the tournament (he had to get himself there). I don't think he left UA with animosity, but he needed a fresh start and took one close to home in SC.
