🏈 Ballou and Rhea take over UA S&C program

Special teams coordinator is a title. UGA's special teams are coached by all their coaches. It's UGA's system, adopted from what Kirby learned from Alabama who runs the same system. Right? Title.

The question I am looking to be answered is what it is Cochran brings to the playing field, as a coach. With that answer, is that what Kirby thinks UGA has been missing?

Ultimately I think we all understand what it's about.... Kirby literally cannot win a National Championship without beating Alabama. He thinks subtracting SC from the UA equation is worth a general on field position.

This is a big year for CNS IMO. All of his former assistants have, or have tried to take a bite from the apple. We'll see what he's got left!

More about what bama loses.... might well be true
I thought the hiring HC at Tennessee was to detract from bama the same. Attempt to disrupt at NC time.
Nasty business if so. But Smart and Fulmer about same if true

Sucks losing SC, but if he was on field coaching material don’t you think Saban would’ve made the move a long time ago?

Kirby is a fucking snake. He can’t win the big game or beat Bama, so he thinks taking SC helps that. But, I am curious if maybe this was a middle of the night thing or something because Saban not letting him say bye to the team? Or is that just how Saban rolls?

I think if it had been a team outside of the SEC, it would have been allowed. SC made his bed, now he has to sleep in it. In business it's not uncommon to be escorted out the door immediately if you leave for a competitor. I'm sure most of the players have his # on their phone.

In industry you get escorted out if you are fired. Usually you can choose to go to another company and give a 2 week notice. You have 2 weeks to say your good byes. At least in my world that is how it works.

In Sark's system.

As crazy as this may sound, I can see early entry.

After seeing how Joe Burrow's stock rose in year 5, nothing sounds crazy anymore. Seriously, to think about his first 4 years and where he ended up it's mind boggling. If Mac can do what he did against very good Auburn & Michigan defenses for a whole season, he will have to be in the draft conversation.

And I 100% agree with how important Sark coming back was. Mac is going to have ultimate confidence and the O will have nice continuity. Rarely the case on either side of the ball in past seasons.

I've said it many times but for many of Saban's titles, it was more about marginal returnees than additions. The guys that stayed on board are easily the difference between a great & championship season:

1. Moses
2. D. Smith
3. Leatherwood
4. N. Harris

Last but not least, Sark.

Despite all the craziness and plucking of talented players & coaches, this was still a fantastic offseason for the Tide. To keep those 4 talented players, Sark, and seal the deal on the top QB in the class is top notch. Also added at some pieces that will contribute right away. The combo of all that stuff falling into place was not very likely headed into the offseason, so I see losing SC & some others as just collateral damage. Still a great off season & huge reasons to be optimistic

True... My point is - If you asked before the offseason would it be a win to get those players & Sark back if it meant losing SC, my answer would be a resounding hell yes!
My disappointment is I thought we made it through the hiring season without any major losses. This is a major loss for the program. Again if Saban hires quickly and it is an impressive hire it will limit the impact. BTW that is what I expect he will do. That is why he is the GOAT.

After hearing the details and some thought this is the way I see this. If CNS had thought he was irreplaceable he would have created a position on the field for him. Obviously he did not. SC hit Kiffin up for a job so this was only a matter of time. We will get a quality replacement and move on. Nothing is forever things change.
