Alabama wide receiver target Agiye Hall will announce his top four schools on March 1, the Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy announced on Wednesday.

Rated the No. 2 pass catcher in the 2021 class, per the 247Sports Composite Rankings, the last cut Hall made came during the fall when he narrowed his list to seven schools: Alabama, Arizona State, Clemson, Georgia, LSU, Oklahoma, and Texas (in no specific order).

Hall was on campus in Tuscaloosa for the LSU game last November. His father tells BamaOnLine they are working on making it back out to the Capstone on March 7 for the Tide's second and final Junior Day of 2020. This is significant in that the four-star wideout plans to announce a commitment on March 14, which he reaffirmed is still the plan on Wednesday.

“I love the program,” Hall told BOL of the Tide. “It’s competitive. It’s nice and simple. And they like to do things 100 percent. They do pass the ball a lot. They love to utilize the wide receivers. They love to utilize them in the run game. I like blocking, too. So yeah, I kinda fit (there).”

This offseason the Sunshine State native transferred to IMG Academy, a program UA has had plenty of success recruiting in recent years, landing five-star recruits like Trey Sanders and Evan Neal and Dylan Moses, as well as others like four-star defensive lineman Stephon Wynn and long snapper Thomas Fletcher.

Wide receiver is one of the Tide's biggest needs in the 2021 class and Hall has been one of the most coveted targets in America considering his offer list. At 6-foot-3, 190 pounds, Hall is rated the No. 2 wide receiver and the No. 31 overall player in the country.

247Sports evaluation for Agiye Hall:

"Big, mature, muscular athlete. True vertical pass catcher with ability to play down the field. Elite overall athleticism on field with verified testing numbers to support. Physical presence with the length to be considered open even with defender in position. High-number in the route tree specialist with above-average ball tracking skill. Great body control through traffic, and very good in the air as well. Strong lean and drive off of line. Snap ability out of breaks with deceleration skill. Gets to top speed quickly despite long stride. Solid after the catch with good vision and power upon contact. Developing route-runner with good release package relative to age. Could fill out more and become dominant outside presence with classic WR1 qualities in time to make early impact at Power Five program with the NFL Draft not far behind."

Five-star prospect says Tide offer was biggest deal to him (BamaOnLine | segments)

Dylan Brooks, the top-ranked player in the state of Alabama, is in no rush to make a college decision. "I really don’t know where I want to go yet,” he told 247Sports earlier this week.

The Roanoke (Ala.) Handley product has seemingly been on countless visits throughout his recruitment, including numerous trips to Alabama and Auburn, among other SEC schools. As he gets more and more familiar with the programs that have offered him, Brooks outlined when he possibly could make a commitment. “Probably like during the season, maybe before (in late summer).”

An offer sheet approaching the 30 mark, Brooks has no leaders to this point. “It’s still open, but there’s still some schools I like,” he said. Those schools are Alabama, Auburn, LSU, and Tennessee. The in-state five-star likes those schools so much that the odds are good he ends up playing for one of them. “Probably so,” Brooks replied when asked if the chances of ending up at one of those four programs was pretty high.

Brooks has developed tight bonds with recruiters on each staff. At Alabama it’s Holmon Wiggins and Sal Sunseri that have established the Tide among the programs Brooks is considering most. “It’s just the culture there,” Brooks said of Alabama. “They’re winners. Everything they do … you’ve got to be the best to compete there.”

Brooks, who last visited Tuscaloosa at the end of January, talked about what Nick Saban likes about him. “I’m versatile. I can play middle linebacker, outside, and how I can fit their scheme.”

On the flip side, what Brooks likes about Alabama doesn’t fully revolve around football. “Just everything that comes with football,” Brooks said of what he’s looking for in a school. “How it can help me after school... even if you don’t make it to the NFL." And that’s an important note considering that’s one of the most critical factors Brooks is taking into consideration.

The five-star DE was asked of all the offers he’s received, which one was the biggest deal in his mind. “Probably Alabama. It just happened. I didn’t know it was going to happen.”

Alabama offers two 4-star Iowa products (247Sports)

TJ Bollers

The 2021 class in Iowa is one of the best that the state has ever seen, and that claim is holding even more true in the past couple of days.

In the past two days, Clear Creek Amana 4-star WDE TJ Bollers and Council Bluffs Lewis Central 4-star tight end Thomas Fidone both received offers from Alabama, arguably the top college football program in the country.

The last time that 'Bama has offered an Iowa native was in 2014 when they offered Cedar Falls 4-star offensive lineman Ross Pierschbacher, who was committed to Iowa at the time. Pierschbacher flipped to Alabama shortly after the Tide offered.

Alabama joins the likes of Iowa, Iowa State, Wisconsin, Cal, Washington, Florida, Texas A&M, and many others to offer Bollers. The Tiffin product has locked in official visits to Iowa State and Cal in June, and is planning to see Alabama sometime this spring now that it offered.

247Sports' Allen Trieu believes that Bollers will be a 4th-7th round pick in the NFL Draft when the time comes.

"Not quite as long as other top defensive end prospects, but has put time in in the weight room and has a solid muscle base," Trieu wrote of Bollers. "Good athlete who has played multiple positions and sports. Runs well and shows good foot speed in chase situations. Has played on offense as well. Is comfortable in space, and ball skills can translate over to defense if he needs to drop into coverage. Does a nice job being violent with his hands. That will be even more so as he gets stronger. Has good quickness off the snap. Mainly needs to continue to develop pass rush technique and get stronger. Weak-side defensive end in a 4-3 or potentially an outside backer in a 3-4 are his projections. He could work his way into the later rounds of the NFL draft when his college career is finished."

The 247Sports Crystal Ball favors Wisconsin for Bollers, but that could be altered now with the big-time offers coming in.

Thomas Fidone

Fidone added his first offer from Iowa in July, and now has added more than 20 offers to his name. Iowa, Michigan, Nebraska, and Notre Dame are the four that stand out at this point to Fidone, but he will likely give 'Bama some thought as well.

Fidone showed out at the All-American Combine last month in San Antonio, and that caught the eyes of more colleges. He's expected to take his official visits this spring.

Listed at 6-foot-6, 220-pounds, Fidone has wide receiver speed, soft hands, and is a promising route runner for a tight end.

As of Wednesday, 10 of the top 22 class of 2021 recruits in the state of Iowa are committed to either Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas State or Nebraska. Fidone and Bollers are the top two players that are uncommitted.

Four-star TE Jermaine Terry looking to shrink list (247Sports)

Richmond (Calif.) Kennedy tight end Jermaine Terry has over 20 offers, with Ohio State and Oklahoma his most recent offers.

Terry was thrilled to get an offer from the Buckeyes. "The Ohio State offer is truly a blessing and I’m thankful to be looked at from such a prestigious school," said Terry.

And the Sooners offer was also big for him. "It is all a blessing because a year ago I had no offers and now I have tons of schools to choose from," said Terry. "I have a great relationship with Coach (Jamar) Cain and he told me that I have an offer there and that they want me."

Still, Terry still stays humble, considering a year ago at this time, he didn't have a single offer. "Being a kid from Richmond, I didn’t think any of this was coming," said Terry. "I just left my head down, kept working and proved hard work pays off. I'm just thankful and working like I've got nothing."

Terry is working on trimming his list down to a top 10-12 and then from there, he'll cut that list in half and start working on setting up official visits. "Sometime this spring when I feel comfortable and confident with it, I'll trim my list down to like 12 schools or maybe 10 and then trim it again," said Terry.

Terry has a thorough list of schools that have already offered, with a couple more still talking with him despite not having yet offered. "I've been talking to Michigan, Iowa and Georgia, and that's really about it, everyone else has offered already and I'm really thankful for it all," said Terry.

Just before the dead period started, Terry made the quick trip down to Berkeley to take in Cal's Junior Day. 6"I've been their plenty of times but I would call this trip my best visit," said Terry. "Just seeing how much of priority I was, my mom was there she had a smile on her face the whole time. Getting to talk to Coach (Bill) Musgrave, that Cal offense is about to change and he’ll use tight ends very heavily. That school is making me a big priority and I have a great relationship with Coach Tui (Marques Tuiasosopo), and Cal is definitely one of my top schools right now."

Several schools came through in January to see Terry with each having plans to return in the spring. "We had Alabama, Oregon, Miami, Texas A&M, UCLA, Oregon State, Cal and Washington and a lot more come through," said Terry.

Oregon came armed with their new offensive coordinator, Joe Moorhead. "Oregon, the whole staff came in, Coach (Mario) Cristobal, Coach (Bobby) Williams, Coach Moorhead," said Terry. "They all told me how big of a priority I was and that I'm a great fit overall."

UCLA also came through on multiple occasions, with head coach Chip Kelly coming through the final week. "Coach (Derek) Sage has been my guy at UCLA and he was who offered me and has been recruiting me and he came up during the season but then Coach Kelly and him both came up to see me," said Terry.

New Washington tight ends coach Derham Cato made it a point to see Terry too in January. "Coach Cato, he's a great guy," said Terry. "He reminds me of Coach Tui, a laid back guy but one who will develop tight ends."

Alabama continues to prioritize Terry as well. "Coach Sark (Steve Sarkisian) and Coach (Jeff) Banks, those are my guys, they're the ones that have been recruiting me and I know they're both coming back in spring," said Terry.

Terry said he's going to sign in December since he plans to graduate that month and enroll in January. A four-star in the 247Sports Composite Rankings, Terry is the No. 4 tight end nationally in the 2021 class.

I caught up with 5-star ATH Emeka Egbuka out of Washington. He told me he spoke with Nick Saban on Tuesday.

"Talked with Coach Saban yesterday and he just told me that they are gonna start picking up their recruitment on me."

Egbuka has kept up with WR coach Holmon Wiggins. He says the staff wants him to come down for a spring practice or the spring game. Egubka visited last spring as well.

"Their winning tradition and culture," Egubka said of what has caught his eye.

Tide in line for two OVs from Brockermeyer brothers? (BamaOnLine | segments)

Tide OL targets (L-R) Tommy Brockermeyer, Jaeden Roberts, and James Brockermeyer.
quote:
Earlier this month the Brockermeyer brothers (five-star offensive tackle Tommy and four-star center James) returned to the Capstone for Junior Day, the Forth Worth (Texas) All Saints Episcopal duo's second time back to campus.

Nick Saban extended an offer to James during the visit, one that impressed both brothers on the stay. “I was just … it kind of felt like a dream,” James told BamaOnLine after getting the news. “It’s the greatest college football coach of all the time saying you have the opportunity to play for him, it’s pretty cool.”

As for Tommy's impressions of the trip ... “I had a great time,” he told BOL. “I learned a lot of stuff that I didn’t know about. Like last time I got to see all the facilities and meet some of the coaches. This time I got to learn a lot more stuff about the people, and just got to meet a lot of the players and talk to the players about a lot of stuff. It was awesome.”

The Brockermeyer brothers both affirmed that Alabama will receive official visits.

On Thursday morning their father, Blake, told BOL that one official visit to Alabama is set for June 19-21. But that's not the only weekend the Brockemeyers are looking at making it to Tuscaloosa on an official visit. Their father says they're also looking at April 3-4 for another -- although this trip could be an unofficial visit and is to be determined. Why potentially two official visits? Since they are brothers, they can go on official visits as family. So since Tommy and James have separate recruitments they can go on separate officials and join each other.

As BOL reported after Junior Day, Alabama is trending for both Tommy and James as other programs like Texas, Auburn, and LSU, continue to chip away at the recruitment.

Recent Texas de-commit has high interest in Alabama (BamaOnLine | segments)
quote:

Alabama recently put an offer on the table to Lake Travis (Texas) tight end Lake McRee, who decommitted from UT earlier this week. “The tight end numbers and the usage of the tight end and the way that they utilize the position is what made me step away from it,” McRee told BamaOnLine.

It wasn’t too long ago that Alabama added a former Texas commit at the tight end position. Major Tennison signed with the Crimson Tide in the 2017 recruiting cycle after a stint in the Longhorns’ class.

McRee was in physics class with some downtime late last month when a message popped up from special teams and tight ends coach Jeff Banks. “I was caught by surprise because it was Alabama and they hadn’t really reached out to me besides coming and seeing me the year before in spring ball,” McRee said.

The 6-foot-4, 217-pounder gave Banks a call and got the good news. “He told me they were going to offer me,” McRee said. “I immediately called my dad and mom and told them that because I was definitely caught by surprise.”

The Texas tight end is familiar with the Tide program having watched UA over the years. “They’re always the big powerhouse in college football. It was definitely super cool to be offered by them. Just all the championships and they have such a winning team and a winning attitude. They carry themselves different than everybody else.”

After reopening his recruitment, McRee is still in the early stages of figuring out the next step. “I don’t have anything set in stone, but I definitely have a couple ideas on visits coming up and Alabama is one of them,” he said.

What’s on McRee’s checklist for his next commitment? “Obviously no matter what I’m going to be looking for a great education, a great football program,” he said. “But honestly where I’m just going to fit best into the offense. That’s what I’m looking for.”

Five-star DL can see himself at Alabama (BamaOnLine | segment)

Alabama has been high atop five-star defensive end Tunmise Adeleye’s list of favorites for quite some time. The Katy, Texas native made the move to IMG Academy in Florida this offseason to finish his prep career before moving on to the next level. Despite the change in location, nothing has changed about the Crimson Tide in Adeleye’s mind.

“Bama’s still a top school to me,” he told BamaOnLine. “Obviously I’ve been there multiple times, I plan on being there again sometime in the spring. It’s still a top school for me. I still view them the same way I’ve been viewing them the entire process. I feel like it’s a school I could see myself at. I know it’s a school that’s going to develop me and I know it’s a school that’s going to develop me as a man and as an athlete. So that’s why it’s been a top school for me. And I know if I go there, at least one of the three to four years that I’m there, I’ll win a national championship. When an athlete goes to Bama he knows what he’s getting there. I still hold them in high regard.”

Special teams and tight ends coach Jeff Banks was the area recruiter for Adeleye originally, and remains the area recruiter for the Tide at IMG Academy.

“We text every day, we talk every day, chop it up,” Adeleye said of Banks. “I understand he’s a coach, but at the same time he’s someone you can easily converse with. He understands us and understands what it’s like to be an athlete and all that stuff. I feel like our relationship has really grown since my freshman year. I feel like Coach Banks is a person I could see myself being coached by even though he’s the special teams coordinator, but I feel like him in conjunction with Coach (Freddie) Roach now and everyone over there, I feel like I could get elite coaching if I go to Alabama.”

Adeleye was not too familiar with Roach prior to the new Tide DL coach returning to Tuscaloosa, but they’ve been in contact since Roach was hired. “Ever since he’s moved over we’ve been building this relationship and we’ve been talking every single day,” Adeleye said. “I’m excited to see where that relationship goes in the next couple of months, especially since I will be committing on Aug. 1.”

Adeleye released a top six back in December of Alabama, Florida, LSU, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M with plans to commit on Aug. 1. As for his official visit schedule, Adeleye is not sure when they may take place but he plans to take a number of unofficials this spring.

Top Landing Spots for Camar Wheaton, CFB's No. 1 RB Recruit for 2021

quote:
2. Alabama

Well, duh, it's Alabama.

Since a 7-6 campaign in Nick Saban's first season, the Crimson Tide are 150-17 with five national championships and six SEC titles in the sport's best league. We understand Alabama fatigue, but the Tide have earned this high regard.

That history of success vaulted Alabama past Oklahoma, and proximity favors the Tide over Ohio State. It also atones for the depth chart, which is expected to feature 2019 5-star Trey Sanders and top 2020 4-star Jase McClellan by the time Wheaton would arrive.

While one program sits above Saban's squad, Wheaton could hardly go wrong in picking Alabama.

For really the first time since Neal Anderson’s playing days in the 1980s, the town of Graceville, Fla. is seeing college coaches flock to the high school to recruit Top100 athlete Xavian Sorey. The do-it-all standout’s emerging stardom has made him a local celebrity. “It’s a lot of support and positive vibes,” Sorey told 247Sports.

With about 25 players on the Graceville Tigers football team, Sorey is asked to do a lot on Friday nights. He plays quarterback, wide receiver, running back, linebacker, safety, cornerback, defensive end, and has even assumed kicking duties. It’s outside linebacker and receiver that Sorey considers himself best at. Considering he does everything at an elite level, 29 programs have extended scholarship offers, including Alabama.

Nick Saban stopped in last month to see the Sunshine State talent. “That was crazy to see him walk in,” Sorey said. ““Everybody was going crazy. The office people were taking pictures with him. Everybody was going crazy.”

Sorey is still in the process of whittling down his list, a top schools group that will be released this spring. Asked which schools stand out early (not official leaders), Sorey named Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, and LSU.

The Tide jumped in the mix early for Sorey, but not before another SEC team joined the hunt. However, it was a coach from the first school that offered Sorey that now recruits him for the Tide. “They’re on my list,” Sorey said of Bama. “Coach Sal, Sal Sunseri, he was the first guy to ever offer me as a freshman when he was at Florida. I talk to him just about every day.

“They’re a great program. They’re winning, so they’re doing something right. I talk with all the coaches and Coach Sal, really. He’s just a cool guy. He’ll have me call him and he’ll wish me good luck before basketball games. He’s come to basketball games.”

Sorey returned to Alabama for Junior Day earlier this month, his fourth visit to UA overall. He says despite being able to play all over, it looks like the Tide is focusing its efforts on him at outside linebacker.

Next month when the Dead Period lets up, Sorey plans to get back to Gainesville on March 7 and Georgia at some point. “It’s hard, man, because all these schools are good,” Sorey said about the recruiting process. Of the schools Sorey feels are recruiting him hardest, he identified: Bama, Auburn, Georgia, Florida, LSU, and Clemson. The Tide is in line to “almost certainly” get an official visit.

When looking at the big factors going into his decision … “It’s where I feel the love as a family and where I know I could get better as a player that’s getting ready for the next level."

Tide in nation's No. 1 safety's top three (BamaOnLine)

Alabama, along with Clemson and Georgia, made the top three for five-star defensive back James Williams out of Opa Locka (Fla.) on Saturday evening, the nation's top safety announced on Saturday night. Williams narrowed his list from nearly 30 offers.

At 6-foot-5, 218 pounds, Williams is rated the No. 5 overall player in the country, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Here is 247Sports' scouting report on the elite defensive back:

“Tall athlete with a frame built for defensive football. Hulking presence with the short-area explosion to patrol as an enforcer at the point of contact. Decisive aggressor with good acceleration and closing speed relative to size. Good instincts in zone coverage with better range and ball skills than immense size suggests. Comfortable in box as run supporter or underneath pass defender. Though a strong finisher, plays with a control in space as well as in the alley. Form tackler. Pad level could stand to improve. Backpedal and man coverage ability needs refinement through two varsity campaigns. Could grow into outside linebacker hybrid with tools to rush the passer down the line. With added technique can develop into marked defender to build a defense around at the Power Five level. Should flash plenty and prove productive enough to hear name called fairly early in the NFL draft.”

Royse City (Texas) 2021 four-star receiver Ketron Jackson told 247Sports that he plans to embark on a busy month of March. Baylor, Arkansas, LSU, and Kansas are schools he plans to visit. He also said a spring official visit to Auburn could happen thanks to his relationship with offensive coordinator Chad Morris. Auburn offered Jackson earlier this month.

Alabama has been considered an early frontrunner for Jackson and got the first couple of 247Sports Crystal Ball forecasts for the Dallas-area standout. Jackson said he remains in contact with the staff. At this point, it's yet to be seen where exactly Jackson fits on Bama's receiver pecking order after offering him last spring, but he hopes to get back for a visit in the near future.

He added that TCU is another school to watch in his recruitment, thanks in part to receivers coach Malcolm Kelly. The Horned Frogs and Baylor, which is recruiting Jackson with associate head coach Joey McGuire, could be two closer-to-home programs to monitor moving forward.

Jackson hopes to graduate early. If he can get affirmation of that goal soon, he plans to make spring and summer official visits with an eye on an August decision timeline.

Woody's World: Best of Rivals Camp Series Orlando

quote:
PLAY OF THE DAY

One prospect that I've heard a ton about over the past few months is Florida wide receiver Mario Williams and he more than lived up to his billing with his showing in Orlando. Williams looks like someone who will play in the slot at the next level but he's so physical for a player his size that he could easily do damage on the outside as well. With players like Hollywood Brown and Mecole Hardman making big impacts early in their NFL careers, Williams is type of receiver that we have to pay more attention to when it comes to rankings. Programs like Clemson, Alabama, Georgia and several others are after Williams and I think he will have a pretty interesting recruitment to follow.

MICAH MORRIS OPENS EYES

Over the past few rankings cycle Micah Morris has seen his rankings stock drop as he went from on the verge of five-star status to almost outside of the Rivals100. After watching him at the camp on Sunday it's pretty clear that our first rankings instincts were pretty accurate. He played outside and was very impressive as a tackle, mainly because of his long arms, which measured in at an impressive 81 inches (6-foot-9). Morris has been keeping a low profile but I think he's in for a huge spring.
