🏈 You think Scarbinsky is getting nervous?

i saw the awards last night. not even tiffin got an award...sucked. o well, they can have their individual trophies we only care about the national title trophy. cool if ingram gets the heisman, he doesnt care about it, we want that BCS title

Scarbinsky is my new favorite epithet.

Me: "We just beat your team Auburn fan!"

Auburn fan: "You just got lucky. We beat you in the first quarter."

Me: "Give it up Nancy. We just beat the scarbinsky out of you."

You know I have mixed feelings about last night. While Alabama got shutout I don't know that our guys exactly got "robbed". There were some very deserving candidates last night.

How can one argue the selection of Suh for anything? Wow, what a beast.

I thought Leigh Tiffin had the Lou Groza but in reading about the kid from UCLA it's hard not to have him right there as well. I don't know what exactly tipped the voters on that one, but maybe the "doink" the other night didn't exactly help. You've got two very deserving candidates. One had to lose, and unfortunately it was Tiffin.

The Maxwell and Walter Camp awards might be one of timing. Mark is a sophomore with two years toward his body of work. McCoy a senior with four years. I really think this may have been the clincher. I know it's supposed to be about the best player, but you know how that always works in our politicized sports world.

Then the Doak. Again, hard to argue with the stats of Gerhart. I'm hoping (but I'm not sure) that the Doak is more about hard, fast stats than the Heisman. Lets face it, does anyone really know what the Heisman is about anymore? :headscratch:

All that to say, yes it was a little downer that the guys in crimson that have won all year didn't win a thing last year. Strange, yes. Conspiracy? I doubt it.

Two huge trophies are left, and I can guarantee you which one 99% of the players, staff and fans of the University of Alabama would prefer. :a:

I will say this Delta, Leigh I feel had the better stats than the Forbath kid and Mark would've possibly put up even better numbers had he gotten 63 more carries to equal Gerhart's touches. I can't argue with Suh raking in what he did last night. He is a beast and he will have a great career at the next level. I feel that we have someone that can rival Suh in Marcel Dareus.

All great comments... I agree. I think last night will help to motivate our crew as well. I had mixed feelings on the Heisman... but in the end, it would be GREAT for recruiting... (Ha.. as if CNS needs any help :) Roll Tide!

I can get on board with the rest because there were some very deserving players represented, but any respect McCoy may have had went right out the window for me, when he flat out lied after the Nebraska game. "Uhhh, I knew there would be a second or two left, I wouldn't have done anything different". Liar! When you screwed up, be a man and admit it. He screwed up. He wasn't the first, he won't be the last. He got lucky, but refused to be a man about it.

IMO, the best player in college football is the SUH fella. Hands down. As far as the banquet last night, all the media did was give us a reason to come out fired up and put a serious butt whippin' on Tx. Did you see Cody? He was not real good at hiding his emotions like Ingram, Tiffin and Saban. Cody was ready to tackle McCoy every time they called his name, and every time a Bama player was bypassed. Thanks to ESPN for reminding our players that we still get no respect. I got a funny feeling that we will come out with something to prove. God help Texas.

Why is this Suh guy so great? Because he played a great game against Texas? Sure he had 4 sacks and 12 tackles in that game, which was great, but he had been pretty average the first 12 games of the season. He came into that game with 70 Tackles and 8 sacks. Solid stats, but by no means do I look at those stats and say, "Wow, that is the best player in the country." So because Texas has a terrible offensive line and he has 4 sacks against them, he is best player in the country? I don't buy it.

For my Money, Rolando McClain is the best player in the country.

amen!

Well, I had yet another in a long list of moron Auburn fans tell me that Ingram lost his Heisman on The Plains. This is the kind of idiotic comment that I'd come to expect from them.

When Ingram wins this thing tomorrow, what are they going to say then? Nothing. The same thing they've been saying since we slaughtered Florida last weekend.

Oh be sure to get ready for all the "well, our players were right, he didn't win the Heisman on THEM" and of course the now classic "don't forget we had a higher score in the Iron Bowl at one point!"

I don't buy it either! He had 24 career sacks. Hell, DT had 27 in one season! I don't remember if DT got any consideration, but I dare say he was not even in the Top 10.
