🏈 What are your feelings on the National title game?

More worried about this one than any of the others. I know we'll scheme it well, but with their athletes one missed tackle can have huge consequences, just like last year. I think we ultimately win, but I don't think it'll be a comfortable game to watch.

RTR,

Tim

The defense will have to play one of their best games for us to win. I just think our offense has become a bit too predictable to put up a bunch of points here. Maybe a change at chief play-caller will be great timing. i hope so.

I think if Bama ran the ball and played field position with them... much like the UW game was at times, we can win with relative ease. Too much pressure on Jalen Hurts to throw routes he isn't comfortable with will spell turnovers and loss of field position.

I'm most interested to see whether or not clemson's O-line can block Alabama's front 7. That is the game in a nutshell.

All the hubbub about Sark will impact Clemson more than Alabama. Clemson's repeated mention of the rematch and revenge is more clutter. There's been more about the clutter than actually playing the game. Both teams are strong, but it will be the team that can focus better who will win.

Concerned because I don't know if our offense can score enough points. Our defense is outstanding but we must contain Watson from scrambling on covered pass plays, don't give up big play passes, especially 3rd and long and create turnovers.

I've been so slammed at work the last two weeks and closing the books on 2016 this week that I haven't honestly had much time to worry about this game. Sure, after our offensive performance against Washington it has me worried, but I also know Washington was a tough defense, we were dealing with some internal issues with Kiffin, and we may have simply had an off night. I think our defense will keep us in the game and allow us to catch up after a slow start on offense. I think our offensive line will struggle, but we will handle that much like we did last year. In the end, I think we simply have too many athletes for Clemson to account for on a four quarter basis. Last year we got into the 4th quarter and we all felt comfortable, given the last touchdown was simply a prevent defense not giving up the long play in a short amount of time. The media and Clempsun are simply hyping this up, and good for them, as I'd do the same in their shoes, but I ultimately don't think Jonathan Allen, Reuben Foster, Ryan Anderson, Big Cam, and those boys are going to let their team lose.

Just an observation, but does Clemson seem a little smug right now? Our guys seem actually pissed off, but Clemson seems a little full of themselves right now.

Also, Boulware's (spelling?) comments about groping the other teams just don't sit right with me. They don't seem the least bit humble. I would not expect them to be scared, because we are not scared, but they really don't seem to respect us. Not just words, but body language and facial expressions as well.

I think the key to this game is can our defense get off the field on 3rd downs we don't have the depth we had last year. Along with who makes the fewest mistakes. I think we win another close game with them.

Remember this pic when it's all said and done. They aren't gonna run on us and no way in hell Watson has the game he had last time.

I really like the aggressiveness of Pruitt's defense. We may not be as deep overall as last season but the first 16 players on our defense are better this year than last, imo. The Clemson offense has not faced a defense like ours (although the one they practice against is probably close.) Our defense will rise to the occasion and our offense will have a much better game than they had against Washington.

I really believe if we don't help them do so, they can't beat us.

Very real scenario that we could lose the game. If it's due to another poor offensive performance, the only person to blame is Kif..., no Hur..., definitely Blake Barnett. We were counting on BB8 to finally live up to the hype but instead folded his tent and hit the road.

I've been frustrated by our QB play over the last few/several games, but I'm not going to crucify Hurts if we don't win even if he has a bad game. It will be a damn shame if this D comes up short, but after several years of 'recruiting championships'; relying on a true freshman QB to lead us says somebody f'g up.

Agreed - I DO like the fact that Pruitt is calling this game for the D - he has a bit of a faster defense than last year, and he has schemed Clemson in 2014 (allowed 13 points in a win) and 2015 (allowed 21 in a win). He will be slightly hamstrung without E Jackson and S Dion-Hamilton but I don't think, despite Watson having Williams, he will be as accurate as last year. Our offense has struggled a bit but we CAN run on these guys. I am worried but hoping for the best. RTR!!!!
