Yeah that roofing company would definitely be replacing my roof at no charge. If they refused, they certainly would NOT like my next step.

I've tended to scoff at "punitive damages" in a lot of cases through the years. But good lord. Coming home, and your roof is gone?!? Yeah, claiming some emotional distress? No scoffing found on my end.
