Yes, it does make splitting wood easier. But geez, that's still hard work. It's not like those are light.

Much, much quicker than a regular hydraulic splitter. Those are short pieces, too. Much easier to handle and split, either machine or by hand.

Sixty as an absolute, no. I split a number of truckloads - manually and hydraulic - of wood from the lake property. Oak, hickory, hackberry, and others. When you cut it that short, it ain’t that bad, and it works in smokers along with any fireplace/fire pit.
