Great post...great read. I think you pretty much hit the nail on the head.

Long story short, Phil did all he could to bring down Alabama...and it worked.

We got probation...and he laughed.

Well, the "Memphis Story" is long since over, Logan Young has passed away and that issue is water under the bridge.

The chains are off 'Bama, and we're #1...while Phil exits stage left.

The entire story is worthy of a best selling novel. No question.

Unless they just really fumble this, they are going to be much better off... which is the main reason why I wanted Fulmer to stay put. Make no mistake, we have the best in the business, but if they bring in the right person, it will make Saban's job a little tougher... especially in terms of recruiting guys like Hightower. He (Saban) isn't going to spend a single second worrying about it though, so neither will I... I just enjoyed seeing us take Tennessee's best players out of Fulmer's back yard, knowing it burned him up inside... not to mention taking him to the wood shed behind Bryant-Denny last year and Neyland Stadium last month. I was looking forward to many beatings to come... this is a sad day.

I agree with you Porkchop. If "Fat" Phil hadn't been so worried about trying to kill the Bama program and just run a solid "clean" program in TN then he may very well have been able to finish out the new contract he signed last season. I sure do hate it for the "Fat One"!!! You reap what you sow and I hope he enjoys his harvest.

No bigee. It was unedited and not meant for publication...I realized after a few hours that it would take a week to finish so I never organized it into a coherent tome. It was readable as it was, and some people liked it, but it was not a finished product - and it was a bit lengthy for a single read.

I don't hate it for him. He was all ABOUT bringing the misery upon Alabama that was brought upon us. He WANTED us to suffer. Now he suffers. Fate is a cruel mistress but he deserves what he is getting. Maybe he should have spent more time recruiting instead of trying to tear up Alabama with the NCAA and FBI.
