| OT Upcoming Nike deals with Bama and auburn...

Way to go Auburn.. Them children in the sweatshops really appreciate it.. and yes, I wish Alabama would dump Nike!!
People always claim that Nike uses “sweatshops” to make their products. If you compare wages in China, Indonesia and other far East countries to the U.S., the wages are fractional but standard for those countries. That’s why companies use that labor to makes their products. It’s no different from companies moving out of New York or California and moving to Texas or the Southeast to have lower costs.

Thanks to NAFTA.. They should be wearing Russell Athletic made in Alabama.. but Nike helped the demise too..

People hold America to different standards, especially Americans. In this case you invest into people and don't take advantage of them. So yes, they are sweatshops, and while Nike was looking to maximize their bottom line they don't have to embrace the "norm" of third world countries and others that oppress their people.

This is kind of surprising to me @Brandon Van de Graaff Nike is Phil Knight's creation, and he's a massive Oregon supporter/fan. Crazy to think he would allow Jumpman to be on their uniforms. I just noticed this on Instagram just now. Assuming they would be during the season if they are taking recruiting pictures in them. I know the players like the Jordan brand these days, so I'm sure strategic, but still.

Jumpman is owned by Nike. Technically it’s just a logo used to promote the Air Jordan line. If a team is wearing Jumpman apparel, they are wearing Nike.

Correct, but you know how egos of the ultra wealthy are. They want THEIR mark on things, not an entity within theirs. I understand it's the same "company", but still interested it isn't his Nike check on his baby and alma mater.

I'd imagine it's just a thing unique with Oregon... I heard an interview with Aaron Estrada a while back where he talked about how they basically got whatever NIKE brand shoes and apparel they wanted while he was there... you'd pick out whatever you wanted from a magazine and it was yours... and that's in edition to all the team issued gear.

He gets a check, either way. Without Nike, there is no Jumpman. Without Jumpman, Nike still exists.

Of note in this story is how UA is about to be obsolete in collegiate football. They are about to be down to less than a half of a dozen schools: four it I have the numbers right.
