🏈 Trash Fire at Texas A&M

I'm hoping Murray stays, this is arguably the best slow motion train wreck I've seen in a while.

Do you guys remember the Kevin Murray story while at TAMU?

I love some good visual aides.

No sir. Do tell.

Actually, the window of opportunity will close on the Ags and their fan base knows that. UTexas has too many resources for it to remain the dumpster fire it has been and you have to figure, the timing for the wheels to be coming off simultaneously at A&M will only benefit the bovines. I am aware that there is not a lack of money in the loveliest suburb of Bryan, TX., but the Longhorns are still not far from being solid again despite inexplicable losses this year. Add to that the meteoric rise of Baylor and and TCU, A&M could find itself the 4th best program in Texas (and maybe 5th if you include Houston) and that's not good when you reside in the SEC West.

Rivals250 WR Quartney Davis has decommitted from Texas A&M
Houston (Texas) Langham Creek Rivals250 wide receiver Quartney Davis has been committed to Texas A&M since June, but Wednesday afternoon he decided to re-open his recruiting process.

THE LATEST: Davis used Twitter to announce his decommitment from Texas A&M, and he also announced his plans to take his official visits. He plans to take all five of them, and he is trying to figure out where those visits will be. He did take unofficial visits to Baylor and LSU for games during the 2015 season, and Texas Tech, LSU, Ole Miss, and Baylor stopped by the school earlier in December.
IN HIS WORDS: On what is next: "Right now I'm just trying to figure out the officials I want to take. As of right now I have Oklahoma State and UCLA, but I don't know if I'm going to take them for sure."

On if Texas A&M is still in the picture: "They are, but there's a lot going on right now."

WHAT'S NEXT: As he mentioned above, his current plans are to take official visits to Oklahoma State and UCLA. The Oklahoma State visit is scheduled for the January 15 weekend and he does not have a date for UCLA. He does not have any other plans at the moment and he is keeping his options open at this time.

Sumln owes Manziel half his paycheck... He got a huge raise and extension early in his contract mainly due to the performance of Manziel who was out there beating teams by himself. Heck, they didn't ever have really good yearswin and liss wise.

I have a saying I use for a lot of bankers I deal with. They're educated beyond their intelligence. I agree with Rockin, he's a little out of his league. In my opinion of course. He's had a ton of talent down there and little resouce constraint.

5-star $450MM complex announces intention to seek new opportunities

College Station, TX - Kyle Field, the home of the 12th Man and Aggie football since 1927, has announced that it will transfer from Texas A&M University effective immediately.

The announcement comes on the heels of news that both 5-star QBs Kyle Allen and Kyler Murray will also be leaving the program, leaving Aggies everywhere to wonder how things could possibly get worse. "Obviously the loss of two quarterbacks in one season is a blow, but it will be even more difficult to replace a facility that has taken years to build not to mention millions of dollars over the years," said head coach Kevin Sumlin in a press conference today. "You bring in stadiums because they have a certain set of facilities that fit your system, and you hope that they stick things out and see it through to the end."

There are few details thus far, and it is unclear if the stadium will be taking its foundation and parking lot or if those will remain with the program. Though no official statement has been made, it is likely that Texas A&M will block the stadium from transferring to any school in Texas, the SEC, or high seismic zones.

At this point it is assumed that backup McFerrin Athletic Center will step in for all football game hosting duties for the remainder of the season. It remains to be seen if Coach Sumlin and the athletic department will seek out a JUCO transfer stadium in the off season or hope for another blue chip athletic facility to land in their laps next season.

He has been promoted about one step above his ability. I think he fits schools like Houston and that tier a lot better than SEC schools.
There was a management book way back when, called 'The Peter Principle'. It was written by onetime management guru Lawrence Peter, and its premise was that in any line of work a person will continue to be promoted until he reaches his level of incompetence. There are many examples of this in the coaching profession, our own most recent one being Mike Shula. Sumlin is the latest example of this in action.

I don't think that this situation is as bad as the one in Austin, since the alumni are not so aggressively invasive, but the current status is starting to resemble (in a figurative sense only) the tragic pep rally bonfire the Aggies had in 1999. The mess is altogether of their own making.

I would like to ask, to no one in particular, why I have been passed over for a District Manager position? Because the three that I have had fits this statement perfectly. Needless to say that it is my old pappy's teaching that keeps me caring as much as I do or I wouldn't do shit for this company, except cash the paycheck.

Ask the guy who passed you over (the boss). Have a heart-to-heart with him/her to understand if it is something you're doing, or not doing, that keeps you from the DM role. Don't beat around the bush. Tell him/her that you feel you're more than qualified, and why, but others are always getting the opportunity. Once you've had that meeting, you can plan your next step.
