šŸˆ Tide safety Robby Green declared ineligible for 2010 season

i don't get this. Its ok to knock someone out on national TV and play later that year, punch another female basketball player in the game and only sit out two games, get a DUI and sit a game, etc, etc, etc...

but a whatever he did gets you a year. The NCAA needs to pull their heads outta their ass. I'm not saying this because of Green's issue, because whatever he did, he knew the rules, its more a statement of the rules not making sense across the board.

First, if it was in place and he knew about it and then broke the rule anyway, then WHAT the rule was is irrelevant. A punishment is warrented, not for WHAT he did but BECAUSE he did. Does it make any sense that the field is 53 yards wide vice a logical 50? No. It is there, and all of college football plays the same game on the same field. Rules are the same.

Second, WHAT the punishment is can not be judged, unless there are details that I have not read linked to this site. So we know what he did, that we may compare that to it punishment, and then against both "crime" and punishment in other cases?

Third, "Fair is not always equalt." - Coach Paul Bryant

Please post more details as they arise. Thanks.
