| CURRENT EVENTS These LA wildfires are something...

I've sat in my garage, on others back porches, and watched out the windows of my house ... winds just like this, constant.

But, there was one element missing in my case(s.) (Should have been a picture from a Burger King. :devilish: )

We’ve seen this movie before… it happened in Hawaii a couple years back… their fire hydrants didn’t work either…Thousands of cars and homes scorched… it should’ve never happened again, but it did in another liberal state..

On top of that, most of the homes that are burning had their insurance cancelled a few months ago. According to the ins companies it was a new rule in California. Now I don’t know what this “rule change” is or if it really was a change. I haven’t had the time or energy to dig.

Fire dept cut 17.6 million!!!!

My understanding is insurance companies wanted to increase the rates and the California state regulators told them no, so they dropped fire coverage as an option to the customers.

The insurance companies probably did a threat and risk assessment of California due to heavy drought, lack of forest management, and lack of water resources, too..

Yeah, I don't believe it was an attempt to gouge, on the Insurance companies part (which would be rare).

Partly… but California was a ticking time bomb…and eco terrorism was always a strong possibility, too… Which it may later be found out that it was..

I detest most liberal stances, but I think a little perspective is in order. My wife wants a 26- or 30-foot tri-toon so, when we have a house full of guests, we can all go on a boat ride together. Our 22-footer handles our needs 99+ percent of the time. I can only recall once where someone had to hang back when we went on a ride. 95 percent of the time, it's just the two of us.

Water supply systems are not designed to successfully handle multiple entire mountains ablaze. No municipality could afford that overkill for a >99.9% event. The only thing that would keep it from happening in conservative hillside towns would be a lack of density or lack of firefighters to pump the water.

Now, that being said, California has a crisis of forest fires due to liberal mismanagement. The last thing any major metro area needs to do is cut its fire department budget. LA has done that. THAT is where the outrage should lie. Even the idiot mayor who couldn't muster a response until her handlers prepared her wasn't at fault for planning an international trip during what is historically the low point for fires in the year. It's cutting the budget and, when confronted with building risks, providing little advance warning of historic conditions.

There is blame for the feds and the army corps of engineers too… they should’ve never allowed those dams to be torn down and water diverted into Pacific…California should’ve never been allowed to make that kind of decision..

Their reservoir system is a mess, but that has nothing to do with how much water is stored ready for fire and consumer use. Newsome gave his key benefactor a sweetheart deal to control much of the water, forget the family name but they are the Wonderful nut guys and have billions. They propped up Newsome during the recall and own him.

So 6-8 months ago….

Insurance companies (State Farm along with several others) expressed concern over water levels in 2 specific reservoirs (I think it is 2). This and a company hired by these insurance companies to assess and put together a plan to submit to CA, LA, LA county about cleanup (nothing but dead fall/brush supposedly).

The response for the shortage of water was of course $$$$$ and the “environment”. Silly I know but what can you do?

Now the “clean up” was put down “harshly” (not my words). Of course by environmental “surveys”.

So the insurance companies, replied by: we have no choice, we’re raising rates for fire coverage. At that point CDI gets involved and with “state authority” shuts that down.

Now, I hate insurance companies (health insurance is even worse) but that’s another problem. I believe the industry as a whole is awful, 2nd only to politicians.

The labor regulations and “environmental” regulations also make the cost astronomical to “rebuild” anything in CA.

This will turn into another Maui situation with the “land”, for certain people. It’s a mess.

I know State Farm, companies they underwrite and their underwriters Are one of the companies. Not sure of the others, but was told 1st hand that several others where part of this.

Oh and the climate change Nazis are full steam ahead on this.
