🏈 The Very Good, The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

Very Good- Henry getting over 200+

Good- Griff 3-3 hitting one for 55 at the end of the half.

Bad- giving up big plays

Ugly- our defense What his name only 31 yards.

The very good: the entire team

That was a solid game by the entire team. The penalties sucked. The big plays we gave up although you'd rather not give up any, but that was a good team we played tonight.

Griff should get the game ball. That 55 he drilled was lights out.

In case nobody knows we have a damn good defense.

Bad- too many big plays given up on 3rd down

LSU only converted 3 third downs in the entire game, how is that "too many"?

@alabama mike Bird has a strong point here ... the same thing I thought of when I read that.

LSU converted three, third down plays with the longest one in the first quarter (3rd and 18) and it took a perfect pass to convert.

Now, if one big play is too many in your opinion I can't disagree. But we have to weigh that against knowing that when a team is playing man, so much on the corners, it's bound to happen at least one time per game.

LSU did convert a 3rd and 9 with a 10 yard gain. Hardly a big play there...their third was 3rd and 1.

Very Good Defensive line
Good Henry
Bad I forgot to buy cornmeal so I could not have cornbread with my chili last night
Ugly The bruises Leonard Fournette will be sporting this morning

O line, very good it was. So I'm giving them love.
Drake was much improved,
Ridley was good. I'm always afraid he's gonna get broke in half. Cochran needs an off season with him.
Stewart, very Stewart he was.
DLINE is on another level.
That's an NFL line!

Remember when the first College Football Playoff rankings debuted Tuesday and most of us—including me—wailed about Alabama’s placement at No. 4? What was the selection committee thinking?

It turns out committee members might have ranked the Crimson Tide a little low.

We complained during the week that Alabama was ranked too high based on its résumé to that point. We’ll shut up now.

This says it all. RTR

Alabama makes national statement with win over LSU

Bad - Pass defense on LSU's first TD

I can't agree with this.

Harris read the blitz, knew where the open space was going to be, and delivered a pass exactly where it was supposed to be. A team getting caught/burned on a corner blitz because it was recognized doesn't automatically equate to poor pass defense.

@Birdman37 @TerryP the two big plays that I referenced are 1 having LSU deep in their territory and we give up a 40 yard gain and 2 the long TD pass. I should not have said 3rd down, my bad.
Mike, I still think the criticism is misplaced. My opinion versus your's ... nothing more.

That 40 yard gain was thrown into double coverage and was a pass placed perfectly. A think of beauty, IMO. The TD, as I mentioned above, was another great play by Harris. I can't put that on Geno even though he was beaten. (Hell, I'd have to question just how many safeties/corners could close when there's a receiver on a route like that.) Even the best defenses and secondaries get beat on corner blitzes.

The very Good- 3 plays changed the game and crushed the corndogs' spirits. The 55 yarder from Griffith, the blow up of Guice by Tony Brown on the ensuing kickoff, and then Dillion Lee's pick on the first play in the 3rd.

The good- O line play was solid and Henry and Drake ran wild! Outside of the execution on the 4th down call on the first drive, I thought Kiffin called perhaps his best game this year. To be honest, I didn't like the call period!

The bad- couple of penalties that hurt and aided a drive or two. I thought off setting penalties could and should have been called. Pettway had his helmet ripped off but Lake was called for a facemask and a hands to the face on Reed, when I believe Ryan Anderson was tackled!

The ugly- purple and gold!!
