šŸ“” The continuing fallout from Nassar at Michigan State.

Sportscenter on in the background ... they mention this.

NCAA president Mark Emmert was alerted to Michigan State...

... a letter sent to Emmert seven years ago detailing 37 counts.

At this point, Emmert is in need of a very good rebuttal. Something like, "we took the accusations very seriously and we have documented facts of where and when we investigated the charges." Otherwise, this stuff could look worse than the Miami fiasco.

WTF is he talking about "a democratic process?" Selecting an interim or full time president for a university is not an election. He does not get a vote, nor do the students.
With hope for humanity, I'm going to assume--only for a second, mind you--he's talking about the political pluralism found in the so-labeled, "democratic process."

But, I find it a huge stretch to believe a guy who has chosen to sit in the middle of a table to have any grasp of what either term means. It reminds me of a toddler sitting in the middle of the floor, pouting, because it's not getting its way.

Was it too much of a risk for the people in charge to have him removed? Did they fear the backlash from students, faculty, et. al., to be so extreme they couldn't assume their responsibilities? Responsibilities that include being the adult in the room?

Arrogance at its finest!!!
I'm not a fan of the academic side of a University "encroaching" on the athletic side: the two will seldom see eye to eye. In this case?

A majority of full-time faculty members at Michigan State University have voted to support a faculty senate vote of no confidence in the school's board of trustees.
In electronic balloting, 69 percent, or 1,907 faculty members, voted. Of that number, 1,653 voted yes, 192 voted no, and 62 abstained. The results were tabulated and sent to the school's faculty Saturday night.
On Sunday, faculty senate members were meeting off-campus to discuss logistics for an emergency meeting to take that vote.

Another case that has gone unreported until discovered ... all the while a Title IX investigation is in full swing? Yeah, tone deaf and evidently they don't really don't care?
