🏈 The Aubies at work

Well, my hubby wasn't happy. I made the mistake of nicely telling him congrats after the game. Thank goodness it was on the phone. His response was not pretty. I wasn't saying it sarcastically either, and he knew that.

He was furious at their 2nd half play calling and their punting and kicking out of bounds to Javy. He was furious at the D for letting us have almost 7 mins. with the ball @ the end. He was furious at the clock management by Todd and the staff there at the end.

So, even though we don't talk much about the game I know he hates the loss and considers it 100% a loss. :a:

That drive to end the game is what legends are made of. Note, there was little in the way of "explosive" plays. It was just 4 yards here, 6 yards there. This is the same kind of strategy I'd employ the whole game againsst Florida.

So much animosity this morning on the radio toward Bama from our Barner friends. Was 6 in a row over us not enough? Don't they know that we lead the series overall, and that the pendulum must swing back our way at some point? I really think they don't want to give Chizik any credit at all for calling the game the way he did. It was brilliant to use every weapon at his disposal to get that big lead on us. hats off to the AU coaches and players. Middle finger to their fans.

It's the same here. They are saying things like "We stopped Ingram from winning the Heisman, that's as good as a win!" and "We dominated you guys in every aspect of the game except for the final score." Moral victories are something that losers invented. :fight:

Even other fans are getting in on it. The tennessee, LSU, and Florida fans here are saying that Bama doesn't stand a chance against Florida. They say Meyer is going to watch the auburn game film, and Florida is going to destroy Bama.

I'm not talking trash though. I just smile and tell them that we'll see what happens Saturday.

The fact of the matter is that we played DOWN to our competition. We have done it all year with the exception of the Chattanooga game. I think the short week, coupled with the fact that we were overlooking them, made cheese-nip's park-league offense seem effective against us. We were FLAT....plain and simple. I personally hope they think they played great and they don't change a thing.

LSU and Tennessee might say that, because our performances against them weren't as dominant as Florida's was.

Ask Arkansas and Mississippi State who the better team is.

I say it's nearly a draw. We have better running backs. They have a slightly better QB, but due mainly due to his running ability, and big-game presence of mind. McElroy isn't awful in those big game situations himself. And is a more precise passer when he's on.

Defenses are a draw. UF gives up less passing yardage, but I believe you can run the ball right at them. Bama is prone to being over agressive on blitz packages, and we suck, I mean SUCK on kick return coverage.

Don't forget USCe. The 'Cocks darn near won their game versus UF.

Auburn fans are not surprising me in the least....I knew that if the game was close, they would be happy...'cos let's face it, don't we ALL know by now that Auburn's entire tradition is made of a bunch of ALMOSTS?

Point number two: So, Ingram was shut down....so what?! I didn't exactly see Ben "big mouth" Tate lighting up the stats either! LOL it's so funny, the way the Barners are talking, you'd have thought that Ingram was stuffed for negative yards and Tate had 200 or something. But Ingram had 30 and Tate had just 54. So exactly where is their point about Ingram? If it's the Heisman issue...sod the Heisman! I'd rather have a national championship any day than to have a dumb little individual award that really doesn't mean much! And for those who think that the Heisman DOES mean something.....crap, Go ask Gino Torretta how much his Heisman means now LOL.

Lastly but not least: I've read that Florida might want to use game film of the Iron Bowl, so they know how to attack Bama's weak spots. Well....let 'em do it. That would just mean that we'd be facing the same thing again....it would be a lot easier to stop the second time around! Also....and let me make this point abundantly clear: If Florida has to look to Auburn, or any other team for inspiration on how to beat Bama...then the game already belongs to Alabama! Because in the end, Auburn's strategy DID NOT WORK! :)

After the game i actually made a facebook post to my auburn friends congratsing them on a good game. All of them responded "So much for that Heisman".

Also i love the fact that on the Roundtable Clay Travis just made a prediction on the SECCG that Tebow will be the best player on the field and Florida will win COMFORTABLY because he wouldnt trust McElroy to lead his team in this game.
