| LIFE Thanksgiving menu

@doemasters , don't have the recipe but our son is preparing the turkey this year and has an unique method he wants to try. Remove the backbone, spatchcooking I think, and lay the bird flat in a buttermilk and salt mixture for 48 hours prior to roasting. He plans on flipping the bird over after 12 hours and repeat until time to cook Thursday morning. Sounds interesting.
How did that turkey turn out Wayne?

We had:
Ham- poured two can of Dr. Pepper over it and put in the crock pot.
Mashed potatoes
Sweet potatoes in brown sugar
Corn from the garden
Green beans from the garden
Cornbread dressing
Deviled eggs
My wife made me a small pan of cornbread
Homemade rolls

After everything was said and done we wound up not having anyone over and just having turkey, dressing, mac and cheese, rolls, and pasta salad. We would not have had that were it not for the fact that most of it was already in the process of prep when we realized we wouldn't be having a gathering this year.
