📣 I have a question. When it comes to emoji's used on the site ...

Just to be clear. Emoji's = 🙃 🍭 🐴

The images like those you can insert in replies.

I can pull those from several places like JoxPixels and X. Take X as an example. What you see there would also be here. So, when they add/subtract we should see most of those here (unless I decide to block some.)

However...did you know...

I can also tweak this a bit where it pulls from your "native" device. IE: The emoji's on your phone, or tablet, or your laptop.

I'm on one of my Chromebook's now. It's Search+Shift+space for the menu or alt+click. Here, on the forum, I can start with : and it'll bring up options. 🙃 As example:
Code:
 :upside_down
The emoji will generate after a few characters.

So, I'm looking at options here ...

What we have (JoyPixels)
What X uses.
Or, what's on your devices.

I mention this today because I'm considering the change. I caution this: Apple can be funny with how they can be a step or two behind the times.

What is a TV show I've not watched, for $1000. 🙃

Don't worry about it Mike...just a little research I'm caught up in playing around with the editor's functions and options.

Interestingly enough, there's a demand for JoyPixels to be used with Android's OS's. It first caught my attention a year or so ago. TikTok changed the landscape when they integrated JoyPixels. There are quite a few third party apps for Android that use it as well. (I've not looked to see what's being used on the app for the site here...gotta be JP as a default, I'd think.)

The benefits of throwing back to native devices don't seem to outweigh some of the drawbacks. I know it'll create confusion for some who use more than one OS without realizing. Then there's the Apple crowd. I kid you not, they are consistently behind software programs like the one used here. Consistently...as in, bet your house.

Emoji-free communication is the best communication.
I suppose you don't like .gifs as well. 🙃

The emoji's I'm speaking of allows us to put up a 🏀 or a 🥎 in a thread title. You can take the 🏈 emoji, put it in the search engine for the site, and it will bring up every football game thread. (It's just like clicking on the Screenshot 2025-02-16 5.57.51 AM.png prefix and how it filters everything out but basketball threads.)
