| FTBL text message from ESPN stating Perrilloux booted from team..

I'm surprised they did it. It's sad for the kid but, it appears to be his own fault.

I'd bet it starts getting ugly real soon. Look for accusations and mud-slinging to begin. LSU had better hope they've been walking the straight line lately.

I wonder what this will do to all the experts picking LSU in the west now.. There will be lots of back-peddlers Im sure

They do refer to Les as a "Mastermind" and a "genius"...dunno if they can back peddle now......

What does LSU's O/D line, look like this year?

Got class or I would look up....argh.

OL very well may end up being the best in the SEC. DL is strong as well. They have some questions, but it's with their back 7 on defense.

A strong running game can be a QB's best friend and they have some good RB's coming back.

It's finally over - Perrilloux kicked off LSU football team

Talk about watching a train wreck happen...

Quarterback Ryan Perrilloux is tossed off LSU football team

BATON ROUGE, La. - LSU quarterback Ryan Perrilloux, who had legal and disciplinary problems throughout his college career, was kicked off the team.

Coach Les Miles said Perrilloux "didn't fulfill his obligation as an LSU student-athlete." Perrilloux was a backup to Matt Flynn for the Tigers, the defending national champions.

"Ryan was given every opportunity to be a part of this football team," Miles said Friday.

In 12 games last season, Perrilloux completed 51 of 75 passes for eight touchdowns and two interceptions.

Perrilloux, who was suspended by the Tigers last summer, was on the fringe of a counterfeiting investigation and was caught trying to enter a Baton Rouge casino with false identification. He also was involved in a fracas at a nightclub in November, but was cleared of wrongdoing.

Miles suspended Perrilloux again in mid-February after he missed a team meeting, skipped some classes and was late for a handful of conditioning workouts. Perrilloux had to meet academic requirements and do extra conditioning work before he was reinstated April 6, in time to go with the Tigers to meet President Bush at the White House.

Perrilloux was not allowed to play in LSU's spring game.

Before his last reinstatement, Miles said Perrilloux had been doing better with his classwork. During the spring, redshirt freshman Jarrett Lee and junior Andrew Hatch split time as the quarterback of the Tigers.

Perrilloux is expected to finish out the spring semester, LSU said.

File this one away under "Rumor Mill", but I read just a couple of days ago that this was going to happen. The person that sprung it said flatly that he was told it was due to a failed drug test.

I have no idea if that is true and am not making the accusation, but that is the story that surfaced according to one person on another board. TIFWIW.

Having said that, I know that Terry has a perminent pallet made on the floor of one of the LSU boards and he might have some additional info on the situation.

EDIT:: Sorry if my post is late to the party guys. I was making it in another thread and it was deleted so I copied it and pasted it here. I see in the thread there is also mention of a failed drug test.

Who are/is their QB now that RP is out of the equation. It's a shame that all that talent is going to be wasted (or, so it appears). Even though this will probably benefit BAMA.

Two played in their spring game, Andrew Hatch (Jr?, transfer from Harvard) and Jarrett Lee {2007 class, 4* QB out of Texas.) They have one guy named Jordan Jefferson (true frosh coming in August) that may be in their rotation as well.

It might not be so great for BAMA that RP is out now when you think about it. Now they've got a lot of time to get their QB situation ironed out and whoever the heir-apparent is they'll have a decent amount of game experience going in against us.

On the other hand, if LSU drops a couple of games early due to this situation it really benefits everyone else in the West and it could turn out to be anyone's division for the taking.

From knowing some of the guys around the program I've seen more than one refer to a failed drug test...they don't throw things out there that are just rumors.

Permanent pallet, eh?

So... What now for Perrilloux? I'm sure LSU won't let me go to an SEC team, otherwise Petrino would be all over this. FSU? Miami? All jokes aside, it wouldn't surprise me a bit if it were FSU.

I was looking at their schedule earlier today to see how it may play out. They start with Appy St, then Troy and N. Texas before traveling to Auburn.

October is a murder's row with Georgia, @ Florida and @ South Carolina.

He's already shirted so I'd imagine he's headed to Div.2 play...or subdivision, whatever they call it now.
