🏈 Team update 2.0

I wish you guys would stop slobbing del Rio's knob. Yes we didn't need to spend a scholarship on him. Ultimately, the argument is moot anyway because the guy has transferred twice, and been a walk-on at all three places, so apparently not being given a scholarship is NOT the reason he left Bama. I'm not sure he's that damn good either, which is probably the reason he keeps transferring. Ie., he's looking for a team that's thinner at QB and he's going to have a better chance to play.

Rick and Morty is a new one that's really good.

I just saw my first episode of that last night. So confused but so intrigued.

So brief team internal update:

Every so often I like to post how certain player sources view the team mojo/chemistry, who the leaders are and how they feel about the season.

So key leaders this year, D Henry, Drake, A'shawn, Ragland, Cyrus, Ryan Kelly, Cam Rob. These are the vocal get after you types. No Qb has really established himself as a team leader. Coker is well liked but he isn't getting after folks as he is still trying to win the team, Morris is just one of the boys at this point.

Mojo is really high with this group, they work well together so that chemistry bound is quite nice. Lot's of chips on shoulders from the OSU loss, this has translated into really hard work in the off-season in the weight room and in SC. Our defensive players especially took it hard and made a lot of changes to their bodies and mental game. The defense has kind of a nasty spot with lots of trash talk and minor scuffles. I like this, means they have that edge back. Tony Brown has been one of the biggest trash talker (not surprised), helped along by Jarren Reed.

Some of the players are worried about our tough schedule, which is expected I would be too. Its a tough one, but they are excited to get going.

One of the players mentioned to me, he thought this group of freshies were the most talented he has seen yet. Specifically mentioned Fitzpatrick, Ridley, and Charlot.

All in all I got a good vibe from my conversations last night. This teams mojo on defense is insane.

Coker and Morris are the most liked of any QBs on the team from a personal level.

My experience with Morris is he is more outgoing kind of more likable right off the bat. Coker, when I was around him said about 5 words, you had to draw conversation out of him.

Any who enjoy, 15 days folks!

Thanks for the update, Boz. From what you've posted and everything else I've read, the defense is intensely hungry, and ready to prove how good they are on the field. With the D being so good, could this be why the QB play looks rather inept a great deal of the time? Are the QB's really not that bad, but rather the defense is just that good?

If you are replying just to see content, put some creativity behind it. Just posting "reply" is well bland. Maybe talk a little football or hell maybe your favorite player and explain why. What you are most looking forward to this season. What game are you most excited about. Just something...

Well the scrimmage was really a trap for the QBs in all honesty. They ran like 10 times, the defense knew they would be chucking it alot. However they still made a ton of plays on the ball. Hard to say but tomorrow will be more game like so I should see how it pans out.

Thanks Boz, I for one always look forward to your insights and comments. Sometimes your sources may be a bit off, but I never get bent out of shape because they may or may not be 100%. (like the insane rants on that other board about would or would not some injured qb graduate and transfer to UA).
Keep us less informed and distant fans involved and informed. TY Richard Cranium

Great! Thanks. Will you be able to do some live posting at the scrimmage tomorrow?

Thank You, yeah sources aren't always right because they aren't Saban lol. So I just pass it along and whatever happens does. One thing is for sure, our Offense may struggle alittle bit but our Def will be in rape mode for Wisconsin.

Update:

Cornwell is officially confirmed to be in the Doghouse in a bad way. I can't discuss what he did but it was not good at all.

Cooper Bateman has made a push with consistency and is now getting looks as well. If this couldn't get anymore complicated.

Barnett is typically freshman. he'll mature between now and next year.
-Cornwell, Some of us has been saying that for a minute... but I wish we knew why.. but out of respect, its probably isnt best to discuss it here.

I knew he was, I just wanted to know why before I said anything. But now that I know it's def not something to spread lol.

I'm not sure who could have watched A-Day and thought the Bateman wasn't the best QB that day. From what I have seen, which isn't much, Bateman and Coker should trade possessions in the first half against the Badgers with Alec Morris being the designated 2A.
