🏈 Team update 2.0

Nate,

Harris is the real deal, Hit the hole quickly, is kind of like a Fowler bowling ball, hard to bring down.
@TerryP Whats your take on the QBs thus far?

You other vets can join in with some 2 cents, I know it's only beginning to be an old topic.
Jake Coker will start season as no 1. Morris no2. that coming from Phil Steel. There a reason he leads the QB every practice.

Two very different situations. That era of bama football ('03-'04 ish?) aren't in the same conversation talent wise. I think if Morris had to run his teams, I'm thinking it would have been ugly. Hard to say how Pennington would have done with this group... Didn't he start as a third stringer the season he won the Music City Bowl? So I guess Morris is pretty comparable.

If it were 2009 and handing off to Mark Ingram against all the "regular" offenses in the SEC would be good enough, Morris wouldn't be as bad an option. But this is 6 years later and scoring points is a must. I'm sorry but with the talent on this team, anything less than a playoff appearance is a disappointment. All around this is an incredibly talented team in so many ways... But QB happens to be an enormously important position. That position can and will decide who wins the national title... Morris was punting last Spring... Goodness gracious.
You keep going to that, but Morris volunteered to punt for the spring because we didn't have a punter on the roster yet. JK didn't here till the summer.

With the roster expansion on Wednesday, Al.com said there was an "extra quarterback" working out. Do we know who it is?

[HIDE-REPLY]It's me! Surprise, guys. Saban has been recruiting me for some time. Despite my complete lack of any football experience on any level, he believes in my skills and truly thinks he can develop me into a high caliber leader of this offense. Thus, I will officially be throwing my hat into the Race for QB1 this summer. With 16 days to go, I think I have plenty of time to learn how to throw the ropes and beat out the likes of Coker, Morris, etc. for the starting job.[/HIDE-REPLY]
