GMAC is usually pretty good when it comes to observation. Now, I think if they really want Barnett to redshirt, they probably would do what AJ did... redshirt... but probably would play if someone got hurt.

I know a little about Allen High School where Morris was the QB (I don't really pay much attention to them...although they've been winning state football championships alot recently, 3 in a row).

For those of you who don't know, they have an enrollment of about 4,500 students 9-12 grade. They for whatever reason opted to be a single high school town, the city population is about 90,000. All their sports teams are loaded, most cities around here that size would have at least 5 high schools, probably closer to 6 or 7. So they have a lot of competition and tons of kids to choose from in any of their extracurricular activities (sports, band, etc). That being said, he was good enough to beat out all the students they had for the starting QB job his Senior year.

Back when he committed to Alabama, I remember they had something like 45 or 50 kids from that school that signed scholarships to play athletics from a single high school across all the sports, which should give you some perspective.

Perhaps @Big Balls knows a bit more about the situation there.

The crazy part is that his only other offer was Wake Forrest, where he eventually committed and de committed from. How does a QB with that much high school exposure, who apparently has the talent to play at Alabama, not have any other offers? At this point if you're a pro style QB with legit measurable, a decent arm, and working legs, you get a dozen schools throwing their panties at you.

I think we should be able to rely enough on D and runningbacks that if Barnett is that special but needs time to adjust we can rely more on run and D early in the year till he gets his feet wet. Also the kid runs a 4.5ish 40....so much like Blake he can scramble if the pass is not there. I just don't want another 1 and done QB and have to be doing this again next year!

On the whole perspective of Barnett being Kiffin's boy or whatever... Kiffin has alot riding on this season's offense. I am all for a win-now attitude, which is an attitude that I would expect the entire staff/team shares. Does anybody think that playing Barnett "too early" could ultimately hinder his development? Provided he is able to stay healthy and upright.

The defense is/will be elite I will bet the house on it. Watching them Saturday was literally like watching 2011. They are going to wreck shop. They will keep us afloat if the Offense struggles. Honestly we have all the tools on offense we just have to put it all together. The OL is 2011ish and the run blocking is much improved. I look for us to lean running with some passing sprinkled in, we may get cute from time to time but only to keep everyone off balance.

While it IS nice to see BB at the top of that list, keep in mind that all of those quarterbacks are current clients of his. It's more of an advertisement for him than an endorsement of how good any of those qb's are.
