🏈 Team update 2.0

IF ....BIG IF.....Barnett has passed Cornwell and David isn't happy about how that went down then it is possible we will have 3 QB's leaving and maybe 4 at the end of this season.

Coker for sure. Why would Morris return for another year. Bateman has to go if he wants to play a meaningful down at some school. David may go so he can have at least 2 years to play.

Could get real interesting.

I've been thinking Morris would leave for 3 years now... He always comes back. I thought for sure Bateman would do the same after playing WR, but he also came back.

If Barnett out right wins the job, DC probably should go. But its hard to believe everything would be smooth sailing for a true freshman, so DC could get a shot this season anyway.

Few questions and thoughts:
We need to stop looking back to last year situation.... Every situation is different and CNS handled it differently than he handled it with AJ and P. Sims. He probably wll handle it differently this year. Just quit bringing up Blake Sims and compare it to this year situaiton.

The QB race is confused. I know someone above me said something about BB being Kiffin's boy and Cornwell being upset about it. That came from BOL and on that topic, they mentioned that Coker injury was something they wanted to handle and not let it linger into first game. Now you go on twitter, and I think i saw Savage saying he dont think Coker will lose his starting spot. I see lot of things that's trending toward BB and I don't blame him a bit. Morris and Bateman have legiitmate chance. So does Cornwell... I don't know if Cornwell screwed up his opportunities by opening his mouth... but we'll see. But If it doesnt get better soon, I expect Cornwell to transfer out no matter what happens.....

I don't think anyone will win the job this weekend..... but there should be seperation of Qbs by this weekend though.

Okay if DC wins the job, Then I don't see anyone transferring after this season. If BB continues to do well and get even better.. he could overtake DC job.
If BB wins, DC most likely will transfer.
IF Alec Morris win, BB stays, but DC leaves.

Wildcat transfer: Bateman and Morris.

If Savage is correct and the loss of a week's practice time in the midst of fall camp does not cost Coker and he is the starter then there is not nor has there been a QB competition in reality. Everything we've heard, both official and unofficial, has been that there is no separation and it is anybody's job to win. it has to be one or the other, either it is a tight race and every snap counts or it is a done deal.

Trying out @TerryP 's award winning posting option:

Per Ben Jones, Tidesports.com

Filling in for Aaron today at the open portion of practice. Alabama was in full pads on practice No. 18 of fall camp. It's been rainy most of the day and there was thunder in Tuscaloosa this afternoon, so they went inside.

  • As expected, Jake Coker was not participating today as he recovers from his foot injury. He was there but was off to the side with trainers.
  • Kenyan Drake was participating with the RBs today.
  • Saw Robert Foster make a nice catch both yesterday and today. He looks fluid and showed good body control to go up and get a ball (no coverage) as he comes back from that minor knee injury.
  • The offensive line was doing some three-man drills at the beginning in the following groups, from left to right: Cam Robinson/Ryan Kelly/Dominick Jackson, Ross Pierschbacher/JC Hassenauer/Bradley Bozeman, Korren Kirven/Brandon Kennedy/Brandon Greene.
  • I've been meaning to note for the last few days that Alphonse Taylor looks like one of the top backups on the offensive line. I don't know if I've seen him with the starting five yet, but he's been working with starters in two- and three-man drills. Would expect him to be a depth guy there, maybe at a couple positions.
No Saban today, but we should speak with him tomorrow evening. Stay tuned on Wednesday for that.
