One notable comment from this press conference is the repetition of his plea to the fanbase to attend the A-Day game, and how important he thinks it is for recruiting.

I think he was shocked last year and decided he wants to use a full house on A-Day as a tool for working with the team as well as recruiting new players every year, as well as it be something unique about our school.

If fans want Saban around for a long time they will try to help out his program whichever ways they can, and going to the A-Day game is a way for fans to be an active part in what Saban wants at this University.

Noticed that as well. He did seem to emphasize the point. I hope it's a packed house once again. Time to step up people. :D

Any time you have a new coach in TTown the A-Day game and the first game of the season seem bigger than normal, but last year's A-Day was just sick! I knew people would be excited but I had no idea we'd pack in that many. Saban's on to something there and he should continue to exhort the fans to make that game and contribute something positive to the program. There's not a doubt in my mind that it effects recruiting in a positive way, and it's something all of us from the greatest to the least can do to make a contribution.

I love the fact that he puts it out there for the fans to hear, and welcomes us to continue to participate in the program.
